IIM Tiruchirappalli’s faculty, led by Director Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh, comprises over 50 full-time members, such as Bipin Kumar Dixit of Finance and Accounting, Yukti Sharma of the Marketing department and more, with strong academic credentials across management disciplines. Their real-world teaching, research and global exposure give IIM Trichy an edge in management education.

The academic strength and the institutional growth of IIM Tiruchirappalli largely depend on a strong faculty base. IIM Trichy will have approximately 55 full-time faculty members by 2025. There are eight faculties signifying diverse specialisation. (i) Finance & Accounting, (ii) Marketing, (iii) Operations Management & Decision Sciences, (iv) Information Systems & Analytics, (v) General Management, (vi) Economics & Public Policy, (vii) Organisational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, and (viii) Strategy & Entrepreneurship. In addition to full-time faculty, the Institute also invites visiting faculty for domain-specific electives to expose students to industry practices and contemporary management thoughts.

IIM Trichy Director & Faculty Details 

Pawan Kumar Singh is the Director at IIM Tiruchirappalli. He has over 30 years of experience in academia and administration. Before IIM Tiruchirappalli, he was a director at the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, and a temporary director at IIM Indore and also a member of the founding academic committee at IIM Sambalpur. Apart from the above, Dr Singh has also worked with various esteemed institutions like the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE Mumbai), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Kanpur University and Vikram University.

Here we are providing a list of Key faculty members of IIM Trichy–

• Karthik Dhandapani–Karthik Dhandapani is currently working as a professor of the strategy discipline. His undergraduate degree was in commerce from Hansraj College at the University of Delhi, and he received his doctorate in economics from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He previously worked as a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.

• Dr Venkatesha Murthy R – Dr Venkatesha Murthy R is currently working as an associate professor in the Strategy and Entrepreneurship area. He holds a PhD from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai.

• Nimmi P. M.–Nimmi PM is presently an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli, India, in the area of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. Before joining IIM Tiruchirappalli, she was a senior grade assistant professor at the Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, where she was also a member of the Research and PhD committees.

• Papri Nath – Papri Nath is a faculty member in the area of organisational behaviour at IIM Trichy. She holds a master’s degree in psychology (specialisation – organisational behaviour) from Banaras Hindu University. She is a university-level gold medallist in psychology.

• Dr M. Vimala Rani – Dr M. Vimala Rani is an assistant professor in Operations Management & Decision Sciences, IIM Tiruchirappalli. Prior to this, she worked for over six years as an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and for around one year at Amrita School of Business, Bangalore.

• Rajesh R- Mr Rajesh is an assistant professor at IIM Tiruchirappalli where he teaches operations management and decision sciences. Previously, he served as an assistant professor at ABV-IIITM Gwalior. He received a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) and a PhD in Astro-Physics from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST (ISRO)) in Trivandrum.

• Meenakshi N – Meenakshi Nagarajan is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at IIM Tiruchirappalli. She worked as an academic at IMI New Delhi and Goa Institute of Management before joining IIM Tiruchirappalli. She has a PhD from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, and a master's degree in international business from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

• Anirban Som – Dr Anirban Som is an associate professor in the marketing area and chairperson (international relations) at IIM Tiruchirappalli. He completed his doctoral work at Bond University, Australia. He did his M.Sc. at the National University of Singapore (NUS) (Com. He is an MBA graduate from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, India.

• Yukti Sharma – Yukti Sharma is an Assistant Professor of the Marketing area at IIM Tiruchirappalli. After that, she did a postdoctoral research fellowship at IIM Calcutta, exploring marketing at the subsistence marketplace, which she had studied at the time of her PhD.

• Dr Ashish Viswanath Prakash –Dr Ashish Viswanath Prakash is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Analytics at the Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, India. He earned a PhD in information systems from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

• Venkataraghavan Krishnaswamy – Dr Krishnaswamy Venkataraghavan is an associate professor in the Information Systems and Analytics Area. He holds a PhD in Management Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras

• Rishikesan Parthiban – Dr Rishikesan Parthiban is an Assistant Professor in the Area of Information Systems and Analytics at IIM Trichy. He holds a PhD with a major in MIS & Minor in Marketing from IIM Calcutta and is an engineering graduate from BITS Pilani, Rajasthan. 

•  Dr Tulika Sharma – Dr Tulika Sharma is an Assistant Professor of general management. She has done a PhD at the University of Lucknow.

•  Dr Nithyananda KV – Dr Nithyananda is an Assistant Professor in Finance and Legal Systems at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy), Tamil Nadu, India, where he teaches courses on Business laws, Legal Aspect of Business/Business Laws, Legal Aspect of Marketing and Strategic Management of Intellectual Property Rights, Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Capital Market Regulations.

• Shalini Velappan – Shalini Velappan is an assistant professor in the Finance and Accounting discipline at IIM Trichy. Her areas of interest in research and instruction are financial technology, risk management, and asset pricing. She has approximately 8 years of experience in the industry, building end-to-end analytical solutions in banking and automobile domains across global markets.

• Bipin Kumar Dixit—Bipin Kumar Dixit is an Associate Professor, Finance and Accounting Area, IIM Trichy. He joined IIM Trichy in the month of March 14. He possesses an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur & a Fellow (PhD) from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

• Dr James Dominic – James Dominic is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Accounting. He holds a doctorate in finance from IIT-Madras. He has nearly 13 years of industry, academia, and research experience.

• Dr Varun Mahajan – Currently, Dr Varun Mahajan is a Grade I Assistant Professor (Economics & Public Policy) at IIM Trichy. He has a PhD in economics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Roorkee, India. Prior to joining IIM Trichy, he was an assistant professor at IBS Hyderabad.

• Dr Vasavi Bhatt – Dr Vasavi Bhatt is an Assistant Professor in the area of Economics & Public Policy. She holds a Ph.D. in Development Studies from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai. Her educational background includes a post-graduation in agribusiness economics at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune. She holds an Economics (Hons) degree from the University of Delhi.

• Dr Renjith R – Dr Renjith is an assistant professor in the area of Economics and public policy at the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli. Before coming to IIM Tiruchirappalli, he was an assistant professor at the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi.
