The registration window for the NMAT, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Aptitude Test opens in the first week of August 2025. One of India’s leading MBA entrance exams will be conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) at 76 NMAT exam centres in 73 cities in India. The NMAT is conducted every year for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate management courses in premier B-schools across India. The NMAT exam is easier than the CAT, any student who prepares for the CAT entrance test can easily pass through the NMAT. This is to be conducted by GMAC and the NMAT examination will be administered within 70 days. More than 50+ best B-schools in India use NMAT scores to screen the candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme. The NMAT exam cutoff percentile is between 85 to 95 for NMIMS Bangalore, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Indore.

What is an NMAT Exam?

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) administers and conducts the NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT Exam). It is conducted on a national level. Candidates use the NMAT score to seek admission to NMIMS Mumbai and other prestigious MBA programs. The GMAC administers the NMAT exam, and candidates can attempt it up to three times i.e., one attempt and 2 retakes. Candidates may repeat exams with a 15-day interval between each attempt. Additionally, during the 70-day test window, students can select the date and time as per their schedules.

For admission to NMIMS Mumbai, its other campuses, or to any of the fifty MBA colleges, including NMIMS Mumbai, SPJIMR Mumbai, ISB, VIT University, ITM Business School, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, IFMR SRM University, UPES, and IFIM College, candidates need the scorecard of NMAT Exam by GMAC.

It should be mentioned that GMAC now oversees the administration of the NMAT exam; formerly, it was conducted by NMIMS, Mumbai.

Academic Qualification

  • The candidate must have completed four years of study in any stream or 10+2+3. As per the NMAT MBA eligibility requirements, those who secured at least 50% of their final year of degree overall are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants may also apply to NMAT 2024 if they are in their last year of graduation or are awaiting results. Until the graduation mark sheet and qualifying examination certificate are submitted, admission is only granted provisionally.

Work Experience

Candidates with two to three years of prior work experience are preferred during the final selection process. Applicants without any prior work experience are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

The NMAT by GMAC 2025 exam has no age bar.

Number of Attempts

The NMAT exam will be offered to candidates three times in 2025, including a "no-shows" period.

Policy for Reservation

  • Each member college handles its own admissions procedure, and releases their cut off separately. Therefore, GMAC does not set any reservation policies. The participating universities have may a unique reservation requirement for MBA and PGDM admissions based on the NMAT exam. The applicants can review the reservation policy of each college on the official website of the respective college.

  • There is no minimum qualifying score for each category to register for the NMAT exam. There is no discount on the application fee for applicants from the reserved category like ST, SC, OBC, and PwD.

  • All candidates, regardless of category, must submit the same application with the same fee of INR 2800.

  • Candidates who successfully meet the desired cut-offs and other eligibility requirements of the respective course applied during registration will be eligible for reserved seats  for widows/wards of armed forces personnel killed/disabled in action or during peacetime, as well as wards of Kashmiri migrants.

NMAT Exam Registration/Application Process

The NMAT by GMAC exam registration process is easy and convenient. The applicants should start the registration process  by following these simple steps:

1. The official website of GMAT by GMAC mba.com/nmat, has the option "Register for NMAT by GMACTM ", candidate has to create an account by selecting this option. Applicants must use an active and accessible email ID

2. Complete the remaining information details in "Manage NMAT Profile."

3. A verification mail is sent to the registered email address. The candidate must follow the instructions to validate their account. Applicants should be careful to look in their spam or junk mail folders. If the email is not received, they can click the "Resend Email Verification" option on the mba.com/nmat page if necessary.

4. To access the Candidate Dashboard, click the "NMAT by GMACTM Dashboard" button on the mba.com/nmat page.

How to Schedule Exam after Registration

  1. After fee payment, the Candidate Dashboard will appear, and on the Dashboard, there is a button to Book Exam Slot. By selecting this option, the exam can be scheduled. The exam appointments may be arranged at the earliest and on any one of the dates which are available on the NMAT website. 

  2. Choose the exam mode as as ‘At Test Centre; and please click on submit. 

  3. On the exam scheduler, the applicant has to click on the PROCEED button and agree with the policies and terms and conditions on the screen. 

  4. Applicants can select any Country, City or Test Centre as per their convenience and select the date and time for the exam.  

  5. Once the applicants have set a date for the test they shall be able to download their admit card from the applicant's dashboards, starting 7 days before their test dates. 

NMAT Exam Retakes

  1. The NMAT by GMACTM exam can be taken by the candidate up to three times in a testing cycle that is scheduled yearly. This means the candidate can retake the exam two times, by rescheduling NMAT twice after the first attempt. 

  2. After the first attempt, the NMAT by GMAC dashboard allows them to retake payment and schedule. After paying the retake price, candidates can click on the Retake Exam option and choose the next exam's location, day, and time.

  3. The candidate can schedule their next attempt right away, but only for a day which will be 15 days after they have successfully finished the previous attempt and received their scorecard with a valid score.

  4. The candidate can reserve a time slot for any day after 24 hours if they are unable to pass the exam and their score card indicates No Show, NDA Refused, or Exam Incomplete alone.

NMAT Exam Registration for the candidates with Disabilities

On the day of the NMAT 2025 exam, candidates with disabilities can accordly request an accommodation and a scribe facility. Candidates must upload a scanned copy of their handicap certificate to use this service. The authorities' assistance desk will review their application and update the status of the accommodations and facilities that aren't on the list below.

How is the Admit Card Downloaded?

The admit cards for the NMAT are available seven days before the scheduled exam of the candidate.

Step 1: Go to nmat.org.in, the official website of NMAT.

Candidates must visit the official NMAT by GMAC website. After completing the application form a link to download admit card is sent to the registered email  ID

Step 2: Select 'Download NMAT by GMAC Admit card 2024' from the website's menu.

Step 3: Applicant must log in to their NMAT account through GMAC.

Click on the "Login" button and enter the login credentials (the NMAT login ID and password). After selecting the tab, aspirants can view their data and the NMAT admit card 2025 on the screen.

Step 4: Click on the NMAT admit card download link, and the admit card will be downloaded in the form of a pdf.

Step 5: Print the NMAT admit card 2025 for future use.

Note: To prevent last-minute software malfunctions, candidates must print their NMAT hall pass a few days before the exam. The applicants do not need to redownload their NMAT exam admit card if they retake it in 2024.

How to rectify mistakes in the NMAT Admit Card?

Before the exam date, candidates must get in touch with the conducting authorities if there are any mistakes on the admit card. The following contact details are provided:

Documents Required at the NMAT Exam Centre

The applicants must bring the following documents in addition to their GMAC admit card for the NMAT:

  • The applicant can print the confirmation email sent to the registered email address.

  • A government approved ID with a passport size photo and signature (photocopies are not acceptable; the original document is needed). Applicants may show one of the following, along with a signature and a photo, as identification:

Requirements for the NMAT Online Proctored Exam (IBT Mode): Guidelines & System

The candidates must follow all the regulations while taking the test since it is administered in both IBT and CBT. The guidelines are mentioned below

  • Applicants must ensure that no one else is present in the room and their desk or table must be vacant, no digital devices are allowed in the vicinity. 

  • Candidates must verify the network system supports the test by using the Examity NMAT system check. 

  • During the exam, candidates must not use any digital devices like phones, headphones, dual monitors, digital watches or calculators. If the camera detects another digital device, the student can be disqualified from taking the test. 

  • Candidates are allowed to use a pen/pencil and an A4 size paper. They must not use a notebook. 

  • The speaker, microphone and camera should be enabled for the exam. The candidates are not allowed to speak or look elsewhere other than the screen or the paper.

  • The candidate must be seated in a well-lit space and his or her face should be seen clearly.

  • The students should disable pop-up blockers and close all background apps.

  • Candidate must give a full 360-degree view of the exam room, to the proctor

NMAT Exam Day Instructions

Candidates must report to the exam centre with the necessary documents and adhere to the following rules on exam day. The rules are mentioned on the NMAT admit card.


  • Inside the exam room, candidates are not permitted to bring any paper or stationery. A pen and a notepad is provided at the allotted table of each student. 

  • In the NMAT exam centre, electronic gadgets of any kind, Earphones/Headphones, mobile phones including smartwatches and digital calculators are prohibited.

  • On the NMAT admit card, candidates must stick a printed passport-size photo, the same as was uploaded during registration. 

  • The same copy of the NMAT admit card used for that exam must be presented by candidates who reschedule another NMAT. The exam invigilator must sign the admit card of each student.

Procedure to download the NMAT Exam Result

Candidates can use the official NMAT by GMAC website to view their NMAT  results which are released within 48 hours of giving the exam. 

Steps to Download NMAT Exam Results

Step 1: Applicants must enter the NMAT GMAC official website and select the NMAT result link.

Step 2: Next, the candidates must enter their date of birth in the designated box and fill out the login page using the username and password they created during registration.

Step 3: The candidates must fill in the security code in the image next to the checkbox.

Step 4: The NMAT results tab will be visible to applicants once they have submitted their valid credentials.
