What is MAT Entrance Exam?

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is one of the major entrance tests for admission into MBA courses in India. It has been conducted by the All India Management Association commonly referred to as AIMA since 1988 and was recognised by the Government of India in 2003. With the help of the MAT exam, candidates can gain entry into more than 600 B-schools in the country.

The MAT examination is available in two formats which are paper-based test (PBT) and computer-based test (CBT) giving students the flexibility to choose the mode that suits them best. As a result, candidates have the opportunity to take the test several times each year as MAT is conducted four times a year. Because of its widespread popularity, MAT is considered the most favourable MBA entrance test in India. The last date of registration for the MAT May session (PBT) is 25 May 2026 and for CBT it is 8 June 2026.

MAT MBA Entrance Exam Features 2026
