The XAT 2026 exam was conducted on 4 January 2026 and its pattern and difficulty level were similar to the one conducted last year. • Number of candidates who qualify - If more candidates qualify this increases the competition and thereby results in higher cut offs.

• Number of seats available - Institutes having limited seats like XLRI tend to maintain a higher cut-off compared to institutes having a large number of seats.

What Constitutes a Good XAT Score in 2026?

A good XAT score depends on the college and the category of the candidate. Based on past trends – 

• 34 to 36+ marks - Very strong score

• 30 to 33 marks - Competitive for many top MBA colleges

• 22 to 29 marks – Chances with tier-2 and tier-3 institutes
