NIT Srinagar and IIM Jammu Sign MoU to Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The National Institute of Technology Srinagar has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the IIM Jammu to boost interdisciplinary learning, research and regional development.

The collaboration is in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and aims to build a strong partnership between two Institutes of National Importance under the MoE and GOI. It will promote joint academic and research activities, consultancy work, faculty and student exchange programs and entrepreneurship development.

A major goal of this partnership is to strengthen the startup and innovation ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir by combining IIM Jammu management expertise with NIT Srinagar technical strengths. Both institutes also plan to develop joint academic programs and explore new interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

Officials from both institutions highlighted that the collaboration will help address modern academic and industry challenges while nurturing future-ready professionals. The partnership is also expected to improve research output, encourage innovation and support socio-economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

In addition, the MoU will facilitate joint conferences, seminars and training programs for students, faculty and industry professionals, contributing to a stronger academic and research environment in the region.
