The partnership highlights the increasing emphasis among management institutions on equipping business leaders with the skills needed to drive AI adoption across organisations, moving beyond AI education that is focused solely on technology professionals.
The newly launched program portfolio includes the Executive Program in AI for Business Leaders, the Executive Certificate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI for Managers and the Chief Financial Officer Program. Designed by SPJIMR faculty, these programs will be delivered through Great Learning's executive education platform and will combine live online sessions, case-based learning, mentored projects and on-campus immersion modules in selected programs.
The seven-month Executive Program in AI for Business Leaders is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of machine learning, AI strategy, AI governance, generative AI, agentic AI and enterprise transformation. Learners can also choose from industry-focused specialisations such as financial services, digital marketing, supply chain management and technology leadership.
The five-month Executive Certificate Program is intended for early and mid-career professionals and does not require any prior coding knowledge. Its curriculum covers key topics including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, AI governance and the principles of responsible AI.
The nine-month Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Program is designed to equip professionals with expertise in financial leadership, business valuation, corporate governance, forensic accounting and AI-driven finance transformation.
On the subject of the partnership, Varun Nagaraj, Dean of SPJIMR, mentioned that in today’s time, organisations require leaders who are able not only to comprehend AI but also to deploy and govern it effectively.
Mohan Lakhamraju, Founder and CEO of Great Learning, stressed the fact that the adoption of AI technology by business leaders should be in line with the organisational and business strategies.
With the initiation of these courses, there is a high need for AI-ready business leaders. In its statement regarding the results of an IBM global CEO study with 2000 CEOs from 33 countries, SPJIMR revealed that 85 per cent of the CEOs believe that the functional leaders should develop their technology capabilities in their respective functional areas, implying the growing relevance of AI in business leadership.
Candidates completing the courses successfully would be awarded a certificate from SPJIMR. Apart from this, select courses would award the participants with Executive Alumni Status.
