The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rakesh Jha, who interacted with the new batch. He encouraged candidates to keep learning, continuously focus on self-improvement and make the most of the opportunities available during their academic journey.
Also present at the event were Alok Dixit, Sanjay K Singh, MP Gupta, Pushpendra Priyadarshi, Sanjay K Singh, Kaushik R Bandyopadhyay, Rajesh Aithal and Vinit Chauhan, who all participated in the induction event.
Rakesh Jha Urges Students to Embrace Lifelong Learning
Addressing the candidates, Rakesh Jha said that time is the most valuable resource and encouraged students to focus on learning instead of worrying too much about results.
He added that students should enjoy their learning journey, give their best effort and avoid becoming overly focused on outcomes. According to him, every individual has a different path and the key is to stay curious, keep asking questions and learn from everyone around them.
He also spoke about the growing importance of artificial intelligence and encouraged students to work with AI rather than see it as competition. He further advised them to make full use of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. He also suggested using technology to improve their skills while continuing to think independently.
Sanjay K Singh urged students to take advantage of all academic and co-curricular learning experiences. He also encouraged them to use technology as a support tool while maintaining independent thinking.
Alok Dixit said that joining IIM Lucknow is both an opportunity and a responsibility. He added that the journey will be challenging and transformative and students can become future leaders by following discipline, integrity and a strong willingness to learn.
Interactions for Industry
The 3-day induction program started with a candidate's pledge and is aimed at helping the new batch understand IIM Lucknow culture, academic rigour and opportunities for overall personal and professional growth.
A key part of the event was an address by Vinit Chauhan, who highlighted the achievements of IIM Lucknow alumni and encouraged students to contribute meaningfully to the institute's legacy.
During the program, students will also take part in interactive sessions with experts from academia and industry, helping them understand career paths, leadership development and professional opportunities. The initiative also encourages students to stay respectful and appreciative of the efforts of individuals whose contributions often go unnoticed, fostering a more empathetic and grounded learning environment.
The Value of Critical Thinking and Vision
Speaking at the event, MP Gupta encouraged students to build a long-term vision for both their careers and personal lives.
He advised them to use artificial intelligence wisely but more importantly, to focus on shaping their own future with clarity and purpose. He said that just as organisations are known for their stories beyond case studies, each student's life is also a story and they should strive to make it meaningful and worth remembering.
