The program is spread over 12 months and is delivered through an interactive Direct-to-Device learning format. Professionals with at least 10 years of work experience are eligible to apply. Students must also have secured a minimum of 50 per cent marks in graduation from a recognised university.
The Senior Management Program includes two five-day campus immersion sessions at IIM Calcutta giving participants the opportunity to interact with distinguished faculty members and gain insights into contemporary leadership issues through classroom-based learning. The program is scheduled to commence on 11 October 2026 and classes will be held every Sunday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The SMP is suitable for professionals pursuing senior leadership positions such as Senior Manager, General Manager, Director, Vice President, CXO, Business Unit Head, Team Leader, Project Manager or Entrepreneur. The curriculum helps participants improve their analytical skills, manage difficult business challenges, improve their knowledge of important management areas and gain a broader perspective for strategic decision-making.
Commenting on the program, Vivek Rajvanshi and Saptarshi Purkayastha stated that modern leadership requires the ability to anticipate change, make informed decisions and guide organisations effectively. They added that the SMP offers a rigorous learning experience that combines strategy, finance, markets, governance and digital transformation, enabling experienced professionals to transition from functional expertise to enterprise-level leadership with greater confidence.
