Dharmendra Pradhan launches IIM Lucknow’s new AI courses

In his address to the meeting, Pradhan stated that they aim to make India a global leader in the field of ethical AI. Business schools need to lead the way in the application of AI for management, innovation and problem-solving. These programs will help students develop the required skills for an AI-enabled future, with technology remaining aligned with our core values.
He also highlighted the demographic advantage of India and the opportunities that lie within the AI domain. Aspirational India has a special chance at creating its own AI solutions and using AI for growth and socially meaningful development, apart from simply aiming at economic growth. The minister also emphasised the need for the country and its institutions to efficiently use the best practices and innovations being implemented through AI and improve education, health and other services. He also highlighted the need for institutions and the country as a whole to develop their own solutions while pursuing their interests and innovation as well.
Prof. MP Gupta, IIM Lucknow Director, said of the new programs, The new programs announced today seek to balance business strategy with technology expertise. A carefully designed modular curriculum is sure to enable students to capitalise on technological advancements to develop business models of the future. As the nation looks to achieve its ambitious vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, this initiative can enable AI capabilities that India truly needs from a societal perspective.
IIM Lucknow has announced the launch of three new academic programs in phases-
BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics (4 years)- From 2026-27, students will be admitted through JEE Advanced.
Tech MBA (2 years)- Planned to be launched in 2027-28.
Integrated BS + Tech MBA (5 years)- In this program, BS students can complete both degrees in five years.
The institute has also specified that these programs aim to attain three essential objectives. individual brilliance, national scope and global leadership.
The institute, through its programs in AI-driven decision-making, digital leadership and innovations, seeks to support national initiatives like "Digital India" and "India AI Mission."
