According to TN Singh, the full-time residential program will admit 60 students. Admissions will be based on IIT JEE scores. Students will spend the first three years pursuing a BTech or BSc degree at IIT Patna and then complete a two-year MBA at IIM Bodh Gaya.
The program has been developed to combine engineering, science and interdisciplinary studies with management education, providing students with a strong academic and business foundation.
A major advantage of this partnership is that eligible students can secure admission through JoSAA counselling based on their JEE Advanced rank, eliminating the need to take the CAT for MBA admission, according to the director.
IIM Bodh Gaya Director Vinita S Sahay stated that the management component of the program offers three specialisations which are General MBA, MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management and MBA in Digital Business and Artificial Intelligence.
To assist students throughout the program both IIT Patna and IIM Bodh Gaya will provide need-based financial assistance (NBFA) for the B.Tech. and MBA portions in line with their respective scholarship guidelines.
Students admitted to the program will attend their induction program at IIT Patna, while the joint degree will be awarded during the convocation ceremony at IIM Bodh Gaya.
Additionally, the placement cells of both institutes will jointly support students with placement opportunities in technofunctional domains such as supply chain, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, healthcare management and digital public infrastructure as they near completion of the program.
