IIM Bangalore provides variety of scholarships to assist students who might encounter financial difficulties because of low family incomes or other valid reasons. The scholarships are planned in such a way that they help deserving and high-achieving students pursue their studies without the strain of money. IIM Bangalore Financial aid is made available through a number of sources such as IIM Bangalore itself, corporate sponsors as well as government programs. Whether based on merit, need or a combination of both these scholarships help promote equal opportunities and academic excellence for all students.

IIM Bangalore Scholarship Eligibility

Students with a total family income of less than ₹8.00 Lakhs per annum are eligible to apply for IIM Bangalore scholarships. Students who experience severe financial difficulties due to some unforeseen personal or family crisis are also eligible to apply for financial assistance.

Types of Scholarships at IIM Bangalore

Besides need-based financial assistance, IIM Bangalore also provides various scholarships such as merit-based or a combination of merit and financial need scholarships primarily for PGP students. Below is a list of some notable scholarship amounts that the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore offers to its students:

• Aditya Birla Scholarship – ₹1.75 lakh/student

• IIMB PGP Alumni First Batch (1976) Scholarship – ₹75,000 (medallion + certificate)

• NTPC Scholarship Scheme – ₹48,000 per year

• OPJEMS Scholarship – ₹1.5 lakh/student

• Siddhartha Padam Award – ₹50,000 (medallion + certificate)

• Runwal Education Trust Scholarship – ₹1.00 Lakhs (medallion + certificate)

• Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (PwD students) – ₹2.55 Lakhs/year

The main aim of these scholarships is to ease the financial burden of the students so that they can fully concentrate on their studies at IIMB. 

A list of the scholarships that IIM Bangalore offers

1. Scholarship for the First Batch of IIM Bangalore PGP Alumni (1976)

It is meant for a female student with a disability who is enrolled in a PGP program.  In the absence of a female candidate the scholarship may be granted to a differently-abled boy. It was initiated in honor of the first batch of PGP of 1976. It consists of ₹75,000 + medallion + certificate.

2. NTPC Scholarship Scheme

This scholarship is for SC, ST or PwD category 2nd-year management students who cleared the first year in single attempt. It awards ₹48,000 annually.

3. Employment in Social Sector Scholarship

Students who work in the social sector after graduation may get a three-year reimbursement of one-third of their tuition fees each year.

Scholarships Offered by the Indian Government

1. Scholarships for Scheduled Tribe (ST) Students at the National Level 

This PGP scholarship is awarded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to first-year ST students. The complete tuition is paid, depending on necessity.

2. National Scholarship for Scheduled Caste (SC) Students

Awarded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment this need-based grant awards full tuition to first-year SC students in the PGP program.

3. Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

For students with a minimum of 40% disability and a valid certificate. Offered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment the scholarship provides ₹2.55 lakh annually to assist with education expenses.

Scholarships Offered by Industry Partners

1. Aditya Birla Scholarship

It is a merit-based scholarship for 1st year and 2nd year PGP students. Topper students of the class (top 25% of the class) in the 2nd year are eligible to continue receiving the scholarship. The value of the scholarship is ₹1.75 lakh per student.

2. OPJEMS Scholarship (OP Jindal Group)

This merit scholarship is for 2nd-year PGP students. It is on the basis of academic performance during the 1st year. The top 10 students are shortlisted for an online test and one student is awarded the ₹1.5 lakh prize.

3. Siddhartha Padam Award

This honour is given to a PGP student who excels in Economics, Finance, and Accounting during their first year and is listed on the Director's Merit List. The award consists of ₹50,000, a medallion and a certificate.

4. Runwal Education Trust Scholarship

A PGP student receives this based on their financial needs and academic success in their first year. It consists of ₹1.00 Lakhs + medallion + certificate.
