To get admission into IIM Bangalore’s MBA and other management programs students need to meet the minimum CAT cut-off set by the institute. For the 2025–27 batch (based on CAT 2024 scores) the general category students must score at least 85 percentile overall and at least 80 in VARC, 75 in DILR and 75 in QA. The cut-off is lower for reserved categories such as 75 for NC-OBC and EWS, 70 for SC, 65 for ST and 60 for PwD candidates.

Clearing the CAT cutoff 2025 is only the first step. Candidates who qualify are shortlisted for the IIM Bangalore WAT-PI i.e Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Final admission is based on several things like CAT score, academics, work experience, gender diversity and how well a student performs in WAT and PI.

IIM Bangalore’s Qualifying Sectional Cut-Off 2025 for the PGP Program: Category-Wise

To take admission to the PGP program at IIM Bangalore for the 2025-27 batch, candidates need to obtain the minimum cut-off marks prescribed by the institute in each sections of the CAT exam. These cut-offs are category-wise. For instance, the general category students must obtain a minimum score of 75 in Quantitative Ability (QA), 80 in Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) and 75 in Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR). Reserved categories like NC-OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PwD must obtain lower scores. Crossing the minimum scores is the initial step in the admission procedure. IIM Bangalore’s Overall Qualifying Cut-Off 2024 for the PGP Program: Category-Wise

For the students to be eligible for admission to the PGP program at IIM Bangalore, they first need to get an overall CAT 2024 percentile cut-off set by the institute. For the general category, the minimum required percentile is 85. For the reserved categories the cut-off gets slightly lower like 75 for NC-OBC and EWS, 70 for SC, 65 for ST and 60 for PwD candidates. Securing this cut-off is necessary to move forward in the admission process of IIMB. 

Overall CAT percentile of the General Category at IIMB for the Years 2024, 2023 and 2022 

For IIM Bangalore's PGP and PGPBA programs admissions, the general CAT percentile cut-off has been consistently very high over time. In 2024, 2023 and 2022 the candidates must have had at least a 99 percentile in the CAT exam to be eligible for the subsequent round of the admission process. IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria for 2025-2027

• To secure admission into IIM Bangalore's PGP program, candidates need to first meet the minimum CAT 2024 cut-offs (85th percentile across the general category; lower for reserved classes).

• Such applicants are selected on the basis of CAT scores, academic record, working experience or professional qualifications and gender diversity.

• Candidates who qualify the IIM Bangalore shortlist subsequently go through a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). The final selection is made on the basis of a composite score comprising CAT performance, academics, work experience, WAT and PI.

• Reservations are offered in accordance with government regulations and any misrepresentation of facts can result in disqualification.
