The campus of IIM Ahmedabad is picturesque and green covering an area of 102 acres in the city center. Campus Design & Environment

The IIM Ahmedabad campus situated in the centre of the city stretches across 102 acres of lush greenery, pathways, gardens, sports fields and peaceful places for recreation. The campus was designed by renowned architect Louis Kahn in 1962 and mirrors IIMA's fundamental values of worldly learning, autonomous thought and sustainability. The campus follows environment-friendly living through solar power, rainwater harvesting, waste disposal and plant nurseries. One of its largest highlights is the emphasis on sustainability.

IIMA is also reviving legendary structures such as the classrooms, library and 18 dorms created by Louis Kahn without disturbing their original design.

Life at IIM Ahmedabad 

Accommodation

IIMA has 25 student hostels that can accommodate approximately 740 students. The dormitories consist of single rooms with shared spaces like a TV room, pantry and tearoom. The amenities include basic furniture, telephone, washing machines, refrigerators and veg/non-veg food. Married students are also provided with separate housing.

The Vikram Sarabhai Library at IIMA is a learning centre having more than 1.9 lakh books, 19,815 online journals and access to 71 digital databases. It caters to both print and electronic formats, providing global, current academic and industry materials. Students can read independently in open carrels and remotely access resources with the help of tools like RemoteXS and EBSCO Discovery.

Cafeteria & Dining

The campus boasts various food outlets, such as TANSTAAFL Café, Food King and Coffee Express. There is also a mess facility for students of different programs.
