• The IIT Roorkee DoMS campus has more than 50 networked nodes connected through a high speed TCP/IP LAN. It features a 45 Mbps leased line and a 5.2 Mbps VSAT line for distributed internet access. All nodes are linked via a 10/100 Ethernet LAN and SCO UNIX open server, which includes software licenses like SCO Xvision 97, Sun JAVA, JDK and Netscape Enterprise Server. The campus provides application development software such as Visual Basic 6.0, Power Builder 6.0, Visual C++ 5.0 and Designer/Developer 2000.

• Every hostel on campus is Wi-Fi enabled and includes a cyber café with 20 computers. In addition the institute provides an Information Centre, digital notice boards and online platforms for registration and placement processes.

Bank

There are two banks operating within the campus, namely Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India. When a student joins the Institute, they are required to have an account in one of the banks mentioned above.

Both the banks are centrally placed. Although PNB is close to the post office, the SBI campus branch is situated in the main building. The ATM of Punjab National Bank is situated side by side with the bank. SBI has 2 ATMs on campus, one adjacent to the bank and the other in Cautley Bhawan.

Post-Office

It is well equipped to serve both students, faculty and even those who do not live on campus. It operates on all weekdays between 9 AM and 5 PM on Mondays to Fridays and between 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays.

Aarohi Child Care Centre And Playgroup

Aarohi Childcare & Pre-School is an important part of IIT Roorkee, earlier known as the University of Roorkee. It was established to support faculty members, staff and married students by providing a safe and caring home away from home environment for their young children.

Railway Reservation Counter

For students’ ease Indian Railways operates a computerized railway reservation counter at IIT Roorkee DoMS. It is located opposite the Institute Hospital and operates from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Students can also avail of ticket concessions for travel home during vacations.

Worship Place

IIT Roorkee brings together people from different faiths in a shared environment of learning. To respect and support religious practices, the campus has several places of worship. Security

The IIT Roorkee DoMS campus is fully secure and enclosed by boundary walls. Security guards are stationed at all entrance gates to check every vehicle entering the campus.
