The Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) situated at the BHU campus in Varanasi offers excellent academic infrastructure to the students along with facilities available at the university. Eligibility for IMS BHU Hostel Accommodation

The students would be eligible for hostel accommodation if they are - 

• Registered in a full-time degree or PhD course.

• Not admitted to any part-time courses.

• Not previously debarred from the hostel facility.

• Not employed elsewhere outside BHU or doing any other course outside BHU.

• Their parents live more than 8 kilometres away from the university campus or their parents/guardians have been posted outside Varanasi.

• Not availed hostel accommodation previously for the same level course.

• Paying hostel charges as per the norms.

• Giving the undertaking as per the requirement signed by both the student and his/her parents/guardians.

Hostel Fees and Paid Allotment

Students allotted hostels shall be required to pay hostel fees as per university rules. BHU provides the Paid Allotment scheme for 5% of seats in any course of hostel accommodation. As per this scheme, 

• Students pay an additional charge of ₹1,500 per month along with the hostel fee.

• Allocation of seats is made solely on the merit of the entrance exam.

• This additional charge goes for hostel upkeep & infrastructural improvement.

Hostel Mess Rules

Each hostel contains a mess that operates through private contractors and under the supervision of the hostel administration. The hostel guidelines are as follows-

• Mandatory membership of messes is compulsory for all the hostel inmates.

• Using LPG or Piped Gas for cooking purposes.

• It becomes mandatory for all the students to pay one month's mess caution money before joining.

• Generally, it has to be paid in seven days after its issuance.

• It becomes necessary for all the students to sign the diet card before every meal.

• Meals are served only in the dining hall except for sick students with permission.

• No smoking, no consumption of alcohol, no wastage of food, no carrying of utensils out of the dining hall.

The Banaras Hindu University provides separate hostels for male and female students studying at IMS BHU. Room allotment is usually done on a twin-share basis; however, there may be room allotment in case of singles and triples as well depending upon the availability and size of the room.
