Institute of Management Studies Banaras Hindu University MBA Admission Process 2026 

The IMS BHU admission process for 2026 will vary according to the program and it is based on the national-level entrance exams followed by the selection procedure of the institute. For admission to the MBA and MBA IB programs students have to clear the CAT and for admission to the MBA Agri business, students need to qualify for the CUET PG entrance exam. The students applying for the MFM, MFM Risk & Insurance and MFT programs are selected via the entrance test. Depending on the program shortlisted candidates must appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview before the final merit list is prepared. 

IMS BHU MBA & MBA-IB Admission Process 2026

Admission to the MBA and MBA-IB programs offered by the Institute of Management Studies BHU will be done on the basis of CAT scores, academic performance, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. There will be 59 regular seats for each program as well as 15% supernumerary paid seats in both programs. Applicants will have to take the CAT test and apply separately via BHU Admission Portal. Admission will be given after taking into consideration the total merit score followed by counselling, document verification and fee submission.

Note - Paid seat admissions are done only after completion of the regular admission process. The candidates who get admission through paid seats have to pay an extra ₹1.5 lakh per year (₹3 lakh for two years).

IMS BHU MBA & MBA-IB Admission Process Step-wise

1. Meet the Eligibility Criteria
   The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree with 10+2+3 system or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% and 45% for SC or ST candidates in engineering, agriculture, medicine, education or law subjects. Last year students may also apply provided they meet the eligibility criteria by the stipulated date.

2. Appear for CAT

It is compulsory for all the candidates to write the CAT exam which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. The CAT exam is a must for admission to the MBA and MBA-IB courses.

3. Apply Through the BHU Admission Portal
   After writing the CAT exam the candidates will be required to fill out another online application form for the MBA or MBA-IB course through the BHU admission portal.

4. Shortlisting for GD and PI

The IMS BHU selects students through the CAT score and then invites them to take part in the GD & PI process.

5. Final Merit List

The Institute makes the final merit list by considering the following criteria - CAT Score (50%), Academic record (20%), Group Discussion (15%) and Personal Interview (15%). Merit list will be separately prepared for various categories as per the guidelines of BHU/GOI.

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment

Candidates are invited for counselling as per their rank in the final merit list and allotted seats according to merit and available seat capacity. In case the regular quota is filled up then candidates can also be considered for admission through supernumerary paid seats.

7. Document Verification

The applicants who have been provisionally admitted will have to provide original documents such as educational certificates, CAT scorecard, category certificate if any identity proof and other required documents for verification during counselling.

8. Fee Payment and Admission Confirmation
   The selected candidate has to deposit the prescribed admission fees within the prescribed period of time to secure his/her seat. The students who have been given provisional admission under the paid seats category are also supposed to make payment for the paid seats fee. Not paying the prescribed fees may result in the cancellation of provisional admission.

BHU MBA Agri-Business Admission Process 2026

The IMS BHU MBA Agribusiness course admission process is based on CUET-PG exam followed by GD and PI. The candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria and then apply for the course at BHU through the BHU application process.

1. Check Your Eligibility

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Life Sciences/Home Science/ other related subjects with 50% marks aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates). The postgraduates of these fields are also eligible.

2. Appear for CUET (PG)

The candidates need to register themselves in CUET (PG) which is the qualifying examination for the course.

3. Apply to BHU

Candidates are required to fill out an online form for the BHU Admission Portal within the specified time period and submit the necessary documents.

4. Attend GD & PI

The shortlisted candidates are called for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round held by BHU.

5. Final Admission

The final merit list will be prepared based on CUET (PG) score, GD & PI test. The selected candidates are required to complete document verification and pay the admission fee.

Note - In the final selection along with the CUET PG exam 20% weightage is given to the GD and PI round.

IMS BHU Master of Financial Management (MFM), Master of Financial Management (Risk Insurance) and Master of Foreign Trade (MFT) Admission Process 2026

The process of getting admission to the Master of Financial Management (MFM), Master of Financial Management Risk & Insurance and Master of Foreign Trade (MFT) courses offered at IMS BHU depends on an entry-level examination followed by a group discussion and personal interview. It is important to fulfil the required eligibility conditions for getting admission into the course.

1. Check Eligibility

Candidates should have a B.Com, BBA, BA Economics, Mathematics or Statistics, B.Sc. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Information Technology, B.Tech., BE or BCA degree with at least 50% marks aggregate from a recognised university.

2. Appear for the Entrance Examination

Candidates eligible for the program have to appear for the Entrance Examination.

3. Apply Through the BHU Admission Portal

Applicants need to register themselves through the BHU Admission portal as per the set deadline.

4. Attend GD & PI

Selected candidates after checking the entrance test score need to participate in the GD & PI held by the Faculty of Commerce, BHU.
