The SET exam is administered online and is computer-based. It simply tests a student's skills in four sections: English, Quantitative (Math) Ability, General Awareness and Analytical and Logical Reasoning. Each section consists of multiple-choice questions, with no minus marking. The test duration is 60 minutes and a total of 60 questions are asked, each carrying one mark.

The SET is divided into two forms according to the course: SET General (for BBA, BCA, etc.) and SITEEE (for engineering courses). Candidates have to apply for the appropriate test that is relevant to the curriculum chosen by them. Apart from SET exam registration, applicants need to apply separately to each Symbiosis college that they wish to join.

What is the SET Exam?

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) administers the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), an entrance exam for applicants to undergraduate programs. The SET examination, which is usually conducted in May every year, is compulsory for courses like BBA, BCA, BA (Mass Communication), BSc (Economics), Liberal Arts and so on. It is an online computer-based test with a duration of 60 minutes which checks the general English, quantitative aptitude, general awareness and analytical and logical ability skills of candidates. In 2025, the test was conducted by Computer-Based Test (CBT) on May 5th and 11th. The exam lasts 60 minutes and is administered in English. Students are awarded +1 mark for every correct response, with no penalty marking for incorrect answers. Candidates should take the following actions to complete the SET exam application form:

• Candidates should first register on SET's official website, www.set-test.org.

• After registering for the SET exam, candidates are unable to modify their information.

• A candidate can appear in the SET exam held on May 5 and June 4, 2025, on both dates. If an applicant takes more than one exam, the higher score will be taken into account for the final percentile calculation.

• At the time of application registration, applicants must upload their passport-size photo at the time of registration. Photos should not be older than 4 months.

SET Exam Dates 2026

There are four main parts to the SET exam syllabus. General English questions test includes poetry comprehension and analysis, grammar and sentence structure and vocabulary. The General Knowledge section tests geography, history, politics, science, technology and economics. The Quantitative Aptitude section tests candidates' mathematical skills in topics like algebra, arithmetic, geometry and mensuration, data interpretation, number systems and modern maths.
