The students in the general category are required at least 50% and SC and ST candidates should score at least 45%. The maximum age for applying is not stated. So, students of any age group can appear for the exam if they meet the academic eligibility criteria.

Depending on the course they wish to take, students from any stream—science, business, or the arts—can apply. There may be subject preferences or requirements for applicants wishing to apply for specialised courses such as the BBA (IT) or B.Sc. (Economics).

Applications are also open to OCI/PIOs, foreign nationals and NRIs. These candidates might have to undertake a separate admissions process at the Symbiosis Centre for International Education. Consequently, it is always best to check out the official website of Symbiosis University or the concerned institute for complete and current course-specific qualifying requirements.
