Indian Institute of Management Mumbai has announced the policy for admissions to its MBA course for the 2026 batch.The institute has decided to retain the same admission structure as last year including the weightage given to CAT scores and the overall selection process.
As per the selection criteria of IIM Mumbai MBA admission process for the year 2026 the CAT 2025 exam will be given 60 percent weightage for selection. There is no change in the sectional or overall cut-offs for shortlisted candidates. But the overall cut offs can be increased based on the number of candidates.
Important Points Related To IIM Mumbai Section Criteria 2026
CAT 2025 has a 60% weightage in the final list of merit.
Personal Interview and academic plus work experience altogether have 40% weightage.
The cut offs for sections of the CAT exam are the same as last year.
The range for overall cut-offs of the CAT exam is between the 70th and the 85th percentile.
The cut offs of ST and PwD categories can fall as low as 55th percentile.
Final cut offs may increase depending on the pool of applicants.
The IIM Mumbai MBA entrance procedure considers various parameters like CAT performance, academics, work experience and PI scores.

IIM Mumbai MBA 2026 - Eligibility Criteria
IIM Mumbai MBA course has a duration of two years and is a full time residential course. For applying there are certain criteria that the candidate has to fulfill -
A bachelor’s degree in at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA.
For candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD category the minimum requirement is 45 percent.
Final year Undergraduate students are eligible as well.
Conditions for Final Year Students
Admission will be provisional.
The degree requirements need to be fulfilled by 30th June 2026.
Final mark sheet and degree certificate should be sent by 31 Dec 31 2026
Failure to meet this deadline will result in the cancellation of admission.
IIM Mumbai Selection Criteria 2026 For MBA Program
The MBA selection process at IIM Mumbai follows a three stage process. These are -
Stage 1 - Shortlisting based on marks obtained in the 2025 CAT
Stage 2 - Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)

Work Experience Score & Academic Performance (APWE)
The APWE score at IIM Mumbai evaluates a candidate's academic consistency and work experience. This score consists of -
High school grades
Intermediate grades based on stream
Grades for a bachelor's degree based on the discipline
Experience at work as of 31 Dec 2025
APWE Formula = [0.70 × (A + B + C)] + [0.20 × D]
Here -
A = Used for high school grades.
B = Stands for intermediate score
C = Stands for a bachelor's degree.
D = Used for Work experience score
A - Rating Used for High School Scores
B - Rating Used for Intermediate/ Class 12 scores
C - Rating used for the Bachelor’s Degree
For AC-1, AC-2, AC-3
AC-4, AC-6 and AC-5
D - Rating Used for Work Experience
