IIM Raipur offers a range of scholarship schemes for its Post Graduate Programme (PGP / MBA) and full‑time research scholars (FPM / PhD). These scholarship schemes include merit‑based scholarships for PGP students with outstanding academic records and need‑based scholarships including complete fee waivers—for SC/ST candidates under Government of India provisions. For FPM scholars the institute provides the entire cost of fully funded fellowships for tuition, library, computer, hostel charges, monthly stipends, contingency grants, conference support etc. In 2025 these scholarship programs are all brought under the umbrella of "IIM Raipur Scholarship 2025".

Eligibility for a Scholarship

For PGP and FPM applicants eligibility criteria are different. Merit scholarships will be awarded to PGP/MBA applicants who have a minimum CGPA of 6.5 (grade not below C+) and a family income of less than INR 2 lakh annually in order to be eligible for additional financial aid. SC/ST applicants from financially weaker sections can be considered for full fee waivers of tuition fees under need-based scholarship schemes funded by the Ministry of Education (MHRD). For FPM candidates to be eligible for scholarships, they must be accepted into a fully funded PhD programme. Scholars who are selected automatically receive financial aid. Along with this in the 2nd year, selection often considers academic performance, research potential and passing of comprehensive exams for future benefits.

General Scholarship Rules of Raipur

IIM Raipur scholarships generally follow systematic institutional norms. Merit scholarships for the PGP are limited and are issued with a cut‑off based on academic record, income and category with full waivers for deserving SC/ST candidates. Unless they are enrolling in fully funded programs, self-sponsored FPM applicants will be responsible for covering the associated costs and must pay the applicable fees. Self-sponsored FPM applicants will be liable for all related expenses if they choose not to participate in the fully supported track.    When registering all scholars are required to pay a refundable security deposit of INR 30,000, which is reimbursed at the conclusion of the program with adjustments. Every year the contingency grant is subtracted from insurance premiums.  With prior notice the institute is able to alter scholarship or fee amounts.

According to available information, IIM Raipur's official website does not include separate scholarship schemes supported by its alumni community at present time. Generally, sources of financial aid include merit scholarships funded by the institute and Government‑sponsored need‑based awards. In 2025, IIM Raipur students can easily avail themselves of the following types of scholarships:

• Merit‑based scholarships: This type of scholarship is limited to a few high‑scoring PGP students with a CGPA ≥ 6.5 and family income less than INR 2 LPA.

• Need-based scholarships for SC/ST:  Scholarship sponsored by the Government of India is for needy students in the SC/ST reserved category and by availing this scholarship their tuition fee is completely waived.

• External scholarships:  Candidates can get additional funding through private, corporate scholarships, or in the form of state government grants. Each of which has its own requirements and deadlines.

 Note: The CAT score, academic credentials, in-person interview, and genuine financial need are the main standards used for providing scholarship to the MBA Students.
