 The batch profile of IIM Mumbai has a wide academic, professional and gender diversity. The 2024-26 batch of MBAs has 505 students with 24% from IITs/NITs/BITS, 29% non-engineers and an even gender split of 52% male and 48% female. Students have diverse industry exposure and interest in different industries such as IT, operations, consulting and BFSI. The MBA PGPEx batch has 26 professionals with a mean experience of 5.7 years and 73% females, whereas the PGDEx-VLFM batch has 26 students with a mean experience of 6.3 years from renowned institutions. 

The IIM Mumbai batch is very diverse with students with good academic scores. They are selected through a stringent process that takes into account academic achievements, work experience and leadership skills.  Students belong to different fields like engineering, business, management, arts and science with analytical and creative abilities to offer in the classroom.

The two-year full-time MBA program admits fresh graduates and working professionals while executive programs like PGPEX admit mid-level managers ready to take up leadership roles. The current batch in IIM Mumbai consists of 505 students with a diverse background of academic and professional experiences. Around 24% of the students are from elite engineering colleges like IIT, NIT and BITS and 29% are non-engineers reflecting a balanced academic spread. There is almost equal gender diversity with 52% male and 48% female students. In terms of experience in the job 52% have less than one year 20% have 13-24 months, 11% have 1-12 months and 25-36 months and 6% have over 36 months. The batch are also diverse in terms of sectoral interests with 38% seeking IT, analytics and product management 29% operations and supply chain 12% consultancy; 7% BFSI and 14% other.

IIM Mumbai MBA PGPEx program Batch profile 2025-26

The batch is composed of 26 students from different academic and professional backgrounds. Around 27% of the students hail from prestigious colleges like ICAI, NIT and BITS. The overall job experience of the batch is 5.7 years and the average age is 28.2 years. The gender diversity is significant with 27% men and 73% women joining. Work experience is also balanced with 31% experiencing 3-5 years, another 31% experiencing 5-6 years and the last 31% experiencing 6-8 years. Sectoral interests of students are varied, with 24% in Manufacturing, 18% in IT/ITES, 13% in BFSI followed by Energy (8%), Automobile (7%), Consulting (6%) and smaller fractions in Oil & Gas, E-commerce, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering Services, Telecom, FMCG, Construction and other. The aggregate of work experience gained by the batch is 148 hours.

PGDEx-VLFM Batch Profile 2026 of IIM Mumbai

The batch comprises 26 students a diverse group of professionals with an average experience of 6.3 years. Approximately 31% of the students belong to prestigious universities such as IITs, NITs and other renowned national institutes. The gender mix of the class is 23 boys and 3 girls. With respect to professional experience, 60% of the respondents have 4-6 years of experience, 20% have 6-8 years and 8-10 years respectively. The sectoral interest of the batch is spread across major industries such as Manufacturing 23%, Automobile 27%, Metal & Mining 27%, Consulting 11%, Energy & Power 8% and FMCG 4% reflecting a diverse set of industry experience and management aspirations.
