Jamia Millia Islamia Campus & Hostel Introduction

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is located on a vast campus of 239 acres situated at Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. The campus offers state-of-the-art academic infrastructure, research facilities, hostel accommodation, sports facilities, health services and recreational facilities. It offers an excellent learning environment surrounded by beautiful natural settings, modern classrooms and fully equipped laboratories.

Academic Infrastructure

JMI offers academic programmes in 10 faculties, 44 departments and 30 research centers through undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and diploma courses. It offers well-equipped modern classrooms, seminar halls, auditoriums, research labs and computer labs on its campus.

Library Facilities

Dr Zakir Husain Library is the central library of JMI. It has more than 6 lakh books, rare manuscripts, journals, eBooks and databases.

Sports & Recreation

The university has an excellent sports complex where facilities for playing cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, hockey, athletics, indoor games and gym are provided. The students also indulge in various cultural activities.

The university ensures that there are different hostels for boys and girls, in which there are modern facilities like Wi-Fi connection, mess arrangements, common areas, reading rooms and 24×7 security. The hostels at Jamia Millia Islamia are segregated for male and female students in order to ensure facilities for students coming from all over India and foreign countries. There are a total of 4,120 accommodation facilities in the hostels of this university, out of which 2,220 are for male students and 1,900 are for female students. Selection in hostels is made according to academic merit, distance from the university, financial status, extracurricular activities and an interview.
