The Indian Institute Of Technology Dhanbad DMS offers various scholarships to MBA scholars. These include MCM, Benevolent, SC/ST, ISMAANA and other scholarships offered by the Government. These help reduce the financial problems faced by students.

Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad DMS has numerous scholarships to help MBA students from varied backgrounds. These scholarships serve as incentives for students and help those from low-economic backgrounds, to make sure financial problems do not hamper students. Students of the Department of Management Studies are eligible for scholarships provided by the institute, the government, alumni & the state.

Merit-cum-Means (MCM) scholarship is one of the most prominent scholarship programs available to IIT Dhanbad DMS scholars. It offers a refund of tuition fees and supplementary economic support to deserving scholars whose parents’ income is not more than ₹6 lakh per annum. Economically disadvantaged scholars are also eligible to apply for financial aid through the Benevolent Fund resulting in a partial refund of tuition fees.

The IIT Dhanbad DMS scholarship facility also extends to SC/ST students through pocket allowance, mess subsidy and hostel seat rent. The financial assistance through ISMAANA scholarships, sponsored by alumni, also helps selected students on a yearly basis.

Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship

The Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is for MBA students who perform well in academics and belong to financially weaker sections. Students continuing in the second year onwards must have a minimum CGPA of 6. Other first-year MBA students will be selected based on their CAT rank and merit. The annual family income should not be more than ₹6 lakh. For this scheme, 35% of the students are provided tuition fee scholarships. The first 25% receive a full refund of tuition fees and an additional ₹10,000. The next 10% receive a refund of tuition fees only.

Benevolent Fund 

The Benevolent Fund is a scholarship for MBA students who face serious financial problems. In order to be eligible, it is required that the annual family income of the student should be below ₹2 lakh. The scholarship will provide financial assistance of 50% of the tuition fee, which is ₹50000 whichever is lower.

SC/ST Pocket Allowance Scholarship

The SC/ST Pocket Allowance Scholarship is a scholarship provided to MBA students who fall under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories. In order to be eligible, students have to pass every semester. Students who have an annual income of no more than ₹2 lakhs are eligible to receive benefits such as mess subsidy, pocket allowance and hostel seat rent subsidy. However, students who fall below ₹4.5 lakhs annual income are eligible to receive benefits such as mess subsidy and pocket allowance. This is an ISM Alumni Association of North America scholarship.

ISMAANA Scholarships 

The scholarships are sponsored by the ISMAANA to the MBA students who deserve the scholarships that are donated by the alumni members. The scholarships are applicable to the fields of study that are open to every student and the students are given the scholarships according to the merit requirements that are defined by the donors. The amount of the scholarship that the student will receive ranges between ₹1000 to ₹1400 per annum only.

National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – Central Scholarships

Eligible MBA students, as per the eligibility criteria set by the Government of India can also apply for central scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. The income criteria and selection process differ according to the scholarship. The value of the scholarship varies from ₹12000 to ₹1,26,250 annually. The application for these scholarships can be made online from the NSP website.

Central Sector Scholarship for College and University

Students It is a merit scholarship program available to PG students including MBA. A scholarship of ₹12000 per annum is provided to selected students. It is a scholarship provided by the central government and applications are processed on the National Scholarship Portal.

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship

The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship is for students who show good academic performance but come from economically weaker sections. Candidates are selected in conformity with merit and income criteria. Students eligible for an MBA would get ₹12000 per year under this central government scholarship.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (CAPF / Railways) 

This scholarship is available to MBA students who are wards of eligible personnel from Central Armed Police Forces or the Ministry of Railways. The amount of scholarship is ₹ 30000 per year for boys and ₹ 36,000 per year for girls which covers academic expenses during the MBA program.

State Government Scholarships

State Government Scholarships are provided for the MBA course for students from certain states like Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir. The criteria for eligibility for the scholarships differ from state to state. The scholarships provide amounts ranging from 15,000 to 240250. The students can apply for the scholarships through the respective state websites.
