UPES Launches MBA Scholarships For Thousand Women

A scholarship initiative has been introduced by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) to give women enrolled in its MBA program 1000 tuition price waivers or freeships.

The scholarship named "1000 Women-1000 Dreams", will be given to women from three priority or selected categories. The institution will award 300 scholarships to women including those with experience in the armed forces according to an official announcement. It further stated that spouses and daughters of active or former military personnel are included in this category as are serving women in the air force, navy and army.

The MBA program at UPES is open to interested candidates via its official website. According to the statement, it was started to improve women's leadership, financial and strategic skills so they can advance into senior positions and create high-impact businesses.

Additionally, UPES will provide 250 scholarships for women working in technology and startups. As to the university, these would include women who invest or work with Indian start-ups or technological enterprises.

Sunil Rai, the vice-chancellor of UPES, gave an overview of the scholarship stating that all women should have access to the resources necessary to become leaders. We are eliminating cost as a barrier to ambition with “1000 Women - 1000 Dreams”, regardless of whether that ambition is defined by a desire to advance in one's career established in high-growth industries like technology and start-ups or serve the country.
