AIMA has officially released the MAT exam dates for May 2026. Exam registration is now underway. MAT stands for the Management Aptitude Test which is an extremely popular MBA entrance test held across India. Registration opened from 1 April 2026 onwards at the official MAT website. The exam fee has been increased by ₹100 from the May 2026 session onwards.
MAT 2026 May PBT Exam Date and Timing
The MAT 2026 PBT test is scheduled on Sunday, 31 May 2026. Students need to reach the exam venue by 8:30 AM since the gates will shut down at 9:30 AM. The examination would begin at 10 AM and conclude by 12 Noon. Candidates can check the admit card for the specific details regarding the test centre, time and date.
MAT 2026 May CBT Test Date and Time
The MAT exam in the computer-based test mode is scheduled on Sunday, 14 June 12026. There may also be an additional afternoon slot for this exam. The candidates are advised to verify their admit cards regarding the allotted time, slots and exam centres.
MAT 2026 Registration Dates and Fee
Registration for MAT PBT should be done on or before 25 May 2026 and for MAT CBT on or before 8 June 2026. The candidates can fill out the application form and submit it online. Candidates appearing in both modes of the examination must pay a separate fee for both.
Admit Card for MAT Exam May 2026
The admit card is generated separately for each MAT examination. The admit card for the MAT May 2026 will be accessible to the candidates two to three days before the examination date. Candidate must take a print out of their MAT May admit card.
MAT May Exam 2026 Results
The results for the MAT 2026 examination will be uploaded to the candidate’s dashboard and they will be informed by email. The scorecards for the computer-based test (CBT) and paper-based test (PBT) will be available at the same time through the same procedure.
MAT May 2026 Key Features
MAT exam is available in different sessions and formats providing candidates with the scope to increase their scores.
The MAT test is held across 35 cities in India. The number of cities for PBT is less than that of CBT.
After allocation of the test centre, there will be no scope for changes.
The rest duration is two hours with 150 MCQ questions comprising five sections with thirty questions in each section.
No subjective and TITA questions will be asked.
Answers in PBT are marked on OMR sheets while CBT is conducted online.
The marking scheme followed is plus one for a correct answer, minus 0.25 for a wrong answer and 0 for unattempted questions.
The same exam pattern applies to both PBT and CBT modes.

Yes, a candidate's best MAT score can be considered while seeking admission into MBA programs. AIMA will send the latest score to the five colleges that filled in the registration form. For other colleges, candidates have to apply separately using their best scores.
