The university has also secured the 4th position among Indian universities in innovation-based education rankings, highlighting its strong performance in innovation and academic excellence.
The WURI ranking evaluates universities based on academic performance, real-world impact, innovation in education, creative problem-solving and community engagement, as mentioned in an official statement.
Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, said that this recognition shows a shift in higher education towards relevance, adaptability and societal impact. He added that modern universities should go beyond traditional learning and build ecosystems that promote innovation, interdisciplinary learning, ethical leadership and real-world problem-solving, aligning education with global needs.

Moreover, in category-wise performance, Lovely Professional University was recognised across 15 innovation-focused areas. In financial impact-driven technology transfer, the university stood 4th globally and secured the top rank in India.
It also secured an 8th global rank and 1st in India for university-based entrepreneurial projects and 11th global rank with the top position in India for funding in sustainability.
Lovely Professional University also achieved strong global rankings across multiple innovation categories. It achieved 20th global rank and 1st in India for Ethics and Integrity and 22nd globally for Curricular Innovation for Future Readiness.
The university achieved a 29th global rank in Cost-Effective Management and 32 globally (1st in India) for Brand and Reputation. It also ranked 37 globally and 1 in India for Crisis Management and 54 globally in Infrastructure and Technology.
Additionally, Lovely Professional University received recognition for student mobility, Artificial Intelligence-powered teaching transformation, openness and inclusive social innovation for underserved groups.
