Students who have completed Class 12 or have a diploma can apply for the BS in Management and Data Science programme until May 31 on the official website.

According to the institute, students who complete this programme will be awarded a BS degree from IIT Madras, which will have the same weightage as any other degree offered by the institute.

Recently, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has introduced a new online BS course in Aeronautics and Space Technology. This course is available to students who have passed Class 12 or have a diploma and this course does not require an IIT-JEE qualification. Earlier, the institute had also introduced the BS Data Science course in a hybrid format, with the total cost of the course being around ₹4 lakh.

The BS in Management and Data Science is conducted in a hybrid learning format. The students will be able to learn from pre-recorded lectures by IIT Madras faculty members, which will enable the students to learn at their own convenience. The course will also have interactive tutorials, case studies and continuous academic support through online discussions. The exams will be conducted on Sundays, so that both students and working professionals can easily take part in the course.

According to the institute, the admissions, placements and career services for this course will be handled by the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) at IIT Madras. The institute is also collaborating with industry partners to provide internships and project-based learning experiences for the students.

According to IIT Madras, the objective of the program is to develop professionals with a deep understanding of business and analytical acumen to lead data-driven transformation in various sectors. V. Kamakoti, the Director of IIT Madras, explained that the BS in Management and Data Science is in line with the vision of IIT Madras to train future leaders for a data-driven world by providing management education along with analytical foundations, while also providing flexible and broad access to learning.

The BS in Management and Data Science program at IIT Madras will enable students to pursue various career options like Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Economist, Business Consultant, Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Analyst, Operations Manager, Marketing Analyst and Strategy Consultant.
