The conference was organized under the theme: Information Asymmetry in the Information Age Markets, Economy & People. The conference was organized by Uruppika, the Centre of Excellence in Macroeconomics, Banking and Finance at IIM Kozhikode. The conference began with the opening remarks of Amarjeet Singh, Whole-Time Member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO of the National Stock Exchange of India and Mridul Kumar Saggar, Head of Uruppika at IIM Kozhikode.

According to Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, Digital technology is transforming the finance sector. It is not only important to use information effectively but also to provide equal access to information.
