IIM Kashipur has admitted 504 students to its MBA, MBA Analytics and PhD programs for the 2026 - 28 academic session. The new batch represents a diverse blend of academic disciplines, work experience and gender diversity.

The incoming cohort includes 350 students in the MBA program, 139 students in the MBA (Analytics) and 15 research scholars in the PhD program. Women constitute 125 students in the batch, representing nearly 25 per cent of the total intake. Notably, the MBA Analytics program has a higher proportion of women with 83 female students out of 139, while the PhD batch comprises 10 women and 5 men.
The batch also showcases strong academic diversity. In the MBA program, 243 students are from non-engineering backgrounds, while 107 are engineering graduates. The MBA Analytics cohort consists of 74 engineers and 65 non-engineers, fostering an interdisciplinary learning environment.
The new batch at IIM Kashipur also reflects a wide range of professional experience. The MBA cohort includes 280 fresh graduates and candidates with less than six months of experience, along with students having six months to more than two years of industry exposure. The MBA Analytics program has a comparatively more experienced cohort with 60 students having over two years of professional work experience.
The inaugural session was graced by Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson of PwC India, who encouraged students to remain adaptable, resilient and committed to continuous learning in today's dynamic global business environment.
Welcoming the new cohort, Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, Director of IIM Kashipur, emphasised the importance of developing leadership capabilities and sound decision-making skills to succeed in an ever-changing world. Faculty members also urged students to embrace lifelong learning, work collaboratively and build strong professional networks throughout their academic journey.
With the commencement of the 2026 - 28 academic session, IIM Kashipur aims to equip students with a well-rounded learning experience through rigorous academics, industry interaction, research opportunities and experiential learning, preparing them for future leadership roles in business and society.
