GRE 2025 Exam Dates in India
The test may be attempted once every 21 days with a limit of five attempts within a 12-month period even when prior scores are cancelled. Appointments are typically available nearly every day and in some instances as early as 24 hours from the time of registration.
GRE Test Options and Availability
ETS organises the GRE exam across 47 cities in India. Candidates can select their preferred test centre and date during the booking process depending on slot availability. Key Things to Remember
You need to reschedule or cancel your test at least 4 days prior to the test date.
The Indian student rescheduling charge is ₹5,000.
When you cancel your test at least 4 days in advance you'll get a 50% refund, i.e., ₹11,250 (half of the ₹22,000 test fee).

Best Time to Take the GRE Exam
Most students do not know when to take the GRE. It is advisable to schedule your first test between 60 to 70 days from your earliest university deadline. This allows you time to:
Get your GRE scores released within 10–15 days of your test and
Schedule a retake if necessary.
Your GRE scores are only valid for five years and therefore early planning is advisable.

You can write the GRE test anytime throughout the year. GRE is available as a computer-based and at-home test with available dates. You can take your test date according to your MBA application deadlines.
If you're looking to apply for MBA programs beginning in 2025 you should take the GRE by August or September 2025. This will allow you sufficient time to get your scores and finalise applications before Round 1 deadlines (typically in September–October).
It's advisable to register at least 1–2 months before your desired test date. Fastidious test centers and test dates get filled soon particularly in peak application time (July to November).
There are no standard registration deadlines because GRE is administered throughout the year. Nevertheless, you must register at least 3–4 weeks before your preferred test date to obtain your ideal time and location.
