IIM Kozhikode's cut-off is the lowest CAT percentile needed to move to subsequent rounds of the admission process namely the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).  These cut-offs vary every year based on several factors like the volume of applications, the level of difficulty in the CAT exam and the academic performance of the applicants.

IIM Kozhikode releases sectional and overall CAT percentile cut-offs that the candidates need to attain in order to be eligible for shortlisting. The overall CAT cut-off in the general category is between 90 and 92 percentiles but shortlisted candidates often have far higher scores usually 97 percentile or more given the competitive process.

The institute also follows the reservation policy of the Government of India and thus has lower cut-off marks for categories like SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD ensuring inclusivity and diversity in its selection process.

Depending on the program being pursued, such as the Postgraduate Programme (PGP), PGP in Finance or PGP in Liberal Studies & Management, cut-offs may also differ slightly. Factors affecting the CAT Off

1. Number of candidates: The number of applicants is a significant factor in defining the CAT cut-off.  More candidates reflect more competition and that means more cut-off. With fewer candidates there is a possibility of the institute lowering the standards to compensate for empty seats.

2. Exam difficulty: The cut-off is directly impacted by the CAT exam's difficulty level. When the paper is tougher than usual the cut-off is usually low. But if it is an easier paper then greater overall scores are obtained which makes the cutoff go up.

3. No. of seats available: The total number of seats in a particular year influences the cut-off. When seats are limited the institute itself becomes selective thus increasing the cut-off. If more seats are introduced the cut-off can be a little more relaxed. 

4. Academic Profiles of Candidates: The overall academic background of the applicants especially their performance in Class 10, 12 and graduation impacts cut-off patterns. An extremely competitive pool of academics may require a greater cut-off to secure quality admission.

5. Gender and Academic Diversity: To ensure a diverse classroom IIM Kozhikode prefers female candidates and those with non-engineering credentials. This may result in slightly lower cut-offs for such profiles encouraging diverse opinions.

IIM Kozhikode PGP program cut-off

IIM Kozhikode determines distinct CAT cut-off marks for various groups to provide balanced admissions. For general category aspirants the sectional percentile is 75 minimum and the overall percentile is 85. The OBC-NCL and EWS candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 65 in every section and 75 overall percentile. The SC category has relaxed cut-offs with sectional and overall percentile of 55 and 65 respectively. The PwD and ST categories have the most relaxed criteria with a 45 sectional and 55 overall percentile. These cut-offs show that IIM Kozhikode is committed to diversity without compromising on scholarship.

IIM Kozhikode PGP-Finance Cut-off

For PGP Finance, IIM Kozhikode asks students to meet specific sectional cut-offs in Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Data Interpretation, as per their category and test scores. General category cut-offs are 85 in Quantitative Ability, 70 in Verbal Ability and 80 in Data Interpretation. Candidates falling under the OBC-NCL and EWS categories have to score 75, 65 and 70 in the respective sections. The SC category offers slightly relaxed requirements: 65 in Quantitative and 60 in Verbal and Data Interpretation. The ST and PwD categories require the lowest scores (60, 55 and 55 respectively) and provide more access while still keeping up academic standards.

IIM Kozhikode PGP-LSM cut-offs

For entry into IIM Kozhikode's PGP-LSM (Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies and Management) applicants have to meet sectional percentile cut-offs according to their category. General category applicants have to meet 80 percentile each in the verbal and reasoning sections and 60 percentile in the other section. For OBC-NCL and EWS categories, 70 percentiles are mandatory in verbal and reasoning and 60 percentiles in others. The SC category maintains the same cut-off of 60 percentile for all three sections while ST and PwD candidates need to achieve a less stringent cut-off of 55% for each component.
