The admission process at MDI Gurgaon is a two staged, structured procedure. Eligibility requires a consistent academic record with a minimum 50% marks in class X, XII and a recognised bachelor’s degree. For full time management program, a valid CAT score is mandatory. Prospective candidates must first complete an online application after which eligible candidates are shortlisted, based on their profile. Admission to the two-year, full-time Management program is based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores. The Fellowship Program (FPM) aims to nurture scholars in academic and research careers, with specialisation in a wide range of disciplines. The applicants must possess a postgraduate degree or a professional degree, such as CS, CA, with an aggregate of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA grade point. For admission, the applicants must appear for any one of the six entrance exams - CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA. MDI Gurgaon Admission Criteria for PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-Business Analytics/PGDM-BFS  

Eligibility Requirements

• A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in class X and class XII (or an equivalent CGPA) is mandatory. Candidates failing to meet this eligibility criteria are not eligible for the 2 year full time PGDM Program.  

• A Bachelor’s degree of 3 or more years, in any discipline, is mandatory. The degree must be obtained from a university approved by the AICTE/ AIU/ Ministry of HRD, GoI. 

• Applicants shortlisted, based on the exam scores and profile, are invited for a Group Discussion, a Personal Interview and a Written Analysis Test. 

Selection Requirements

The selection of candidates for the 2-year residential MDI Gurgaon PGDM course is a two step process. In stage I students are shortlisted for the GD-PI process based on the criteria given below in the table. In stage II, the candidates are selected for the final admission into the MBA courses.

MDI Gurgaon Admission Criteria for Dual Degree PGDM- International Business (PGDM-IB)

MDI’s Dual Degree program enables students to earn two distinguished qualifications: a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from MDI and a Masters in International Management (MIM) from a top-ranked European Business School. 

Eligibility Requirements 

Candidates must have scored a minimum aggregate score 50% (or an equivalent grade) in both class X and class XII examinations.  for all students for the PGDM Flagship program of MDI Gurgaon. 

• Additionally, candidates must hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree. The degree must be obtained from a university approved by the AICTE/ AIU/ Ministry of HRD, GoI. 

• Applicants to the International Business program must possess a minimum of 1 year of work experience. 

• Shortlisted candidates proceed to the final selection stage, which includes a group discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) and a Written Admission Test (WAT).

The aspirants, must fill out be application forms for PGDM (Online), available on the official website of MDI Gurgaon.  Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their application process. The final admission offer is made by combining scores from the personal interview, past academic performance, professional work experience and factors of academic and social diversity. 

Eligibility Requirements 

• Proficiency in the English Language

• Secondary Education: A minimum aggregate of 60% marks or an equivalent marks in both class X and class XII examinations. At least 50% marks in class X and class XII (or an equivalent CGPA) for all applicants is mandatory.

• The applicants must have at least 3 years bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (or an equivalent CGPA) from any University recognised by the AICTE/AIU/ Ministry of HRD, GoI. 

• The candidates must have a full time 2 years work experience before 31st December 2025. 

MDI Gurgaon Admission Criteria for Executive PGDM in Business Management (PGDM-BM) 

The Executive Post-Graduate Diploma in Management- Business Management is one of the most prestigious programs at MDI Gurgaon. The eligibility criteria differ for the Self-Sponsored candidates and the candidates who have been sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training, GoI. 

For Self-Sponsored Candidates

• Secondary Education: A minimum aggregate of 60% marks or an equivalent grade point in both class X and class XII examinations.

• Undergraduate degree: A bachelor’s degree of atleast three years duration, with a minimum 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. 

• University Recognition: The degree must be awarded by a university, duly incorporated by an Act of the Central or the State Legislature in India, an institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed to be university under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Degrees from Institutions recognised by AICTE/AIU/ Ministry of Education (Formerly Ministry of HRD), GoI are valid. 

• Work Experience: 3 years of Post-qualification work experience is mandatory for all applicants to the PGDM-BA Program.

For DoPT Sponsored Candidates

• This program is open to Faculty members of State AdministrativeTraining Institutes and Officers of the State Civil Services/ Non-State Civil Services, Central Services and officers of the All India Services (Organised and non-organised, technical and Non-technical)

• Officers must have completed 5 years of Group A services, 

• They  must have at least 3 years of remaining service after completion of the program

• Before the Program commences, the applicants must not have undergone a training period of more than 12 weeks or more, in a duration of 5 years.

The officers must not have undergone a training period abroad for more than 6 months in the preceding 5 years,  for more than 1 month in the preceding 3 years, for more than 2 weeks in the preceding 2 years.

MDI Gurgaon Admission Criteria for Fellowship Program in Management (FPM) 

MDI Gurgaon seeks applicants with a strong academic background, meaningful work experience and a genuine passion for advancing management thought and practice. The Management Development Institute offers two Fellowship Programs, the Residential FPM and the Non-Residential FPM.

Eligibility Requirements

• A minimum of 60% marks in X, XII and graduation (if a CGPA grading point is followed, then an equivalent CGPA is mandatory) along with a master’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent Grade point average recognised by AICTE/AIU. 

OR

• Five-year Integrated Bachelor’s + Master’s Program in any discipline with at least 60% marks (with first division) after passing higher secondary school with minimum 60% (with first division).

OR

• A graduate degree with atleast 60% marks and a professional degree like CA, CMA, CS with at least 50% marks

• For Non-Residential FPM, the candidates must be 35 years or above age and have at least 10 years of managerial work experience. 

• For Residential FPM, the candidates appearing for the last examination of their post graduation or professional degree are also eligible. Candidate above 50 years of age, are not eligible for this program.

Selection Requirements

• The applicants must have a score from any of the standard tests like CAT/GMAT/ GRE/ GATE/ UGC-JRF

• The candidates who have completed MBA/PGP within the last ten years from MDI/ IIMs/XLRI /FMS do not need to appear for the entrance tests if they have a GPA of 6 out of 10 points
