IIM Nagpur PGP/MBA & Admission Process 2025–27 (Step-by-Step)

The IIM Nagpur admission 2026 for the MBA/PGP program follows a structured four-stage approach given below-

Step 1 – Apply for CAT

• The​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Common Admission Test (CAT) is mandatory for candidates.

• While filling the CAT application form,

• The candidates should mention IIM Nagpur as one of their institute preferences.

• IIM Nagpur uses minimum percentile cutoffs in each section and overall for the CAT that change according to the category (General, OBC-NC, EWS, SC, ST, ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌PwD).

• Shortlisted candidates who want to take admission at IIM Nagpur are asked to fill out an application form before the due date.

Step 2 –  PI & Extempore Round

• Just​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ reaching the cutoff marks does not assure that the candidate will be finally selected; it only makes the candidates eligible for the next level. Additionally, the academic performance and the consistency of the profile are also taken into account for the shortlisting process

• Candidates meeting the cutoff are shortlisted for the CAP PI & Extempore round.

Note- The PI assesses communication skills, clarity of thought, leadership potential, academic awareness and motivation. The extempore is generally used to evaluate analytical thinking and verbal communication.

Step 3 – Final scores are determined using the following formula after PI and Extempore.

Final Score = 45% CAT score + 20% PI score + 5% Extempore +6% PAP+ 9% Work experience +5% Academic Diversity + 10% Gender Diversity
