The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has now started Adi Karmayogi Student Chapters in top institutions like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, NITs and other universities. IIT Delhi’s Bhagwan Birsa Munda Cell will act as the central hub. The launch was attended by Shri Vibhu Nayar Secretary of the Ministry, Prof. Rangan Banerjee Director of IIT Delhi and senior officials from across India.
Key Objectives
Train tribal youth to become leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs.
Provide access to the ₹50 Crore Venture Capital Fund for tribal startups.
Mentor students in EMRS and Ashram Schools to reduce dropouts.
Support village development with SWOT analysis and Vision 2030 plans.
Offer internships, fellowships and industry recognised certifications.
Teach semiconductor skills in partnership with IISc Bangalore.
Recognise top-performing chapters, mentors and students.
Planned Activities
Innovation workshops, hackathons, mentorship programs, village adoption drives, campaigns to boost school enrollment, internships, fellowships and national level awards.
Phase I Institutions
IITs - IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Dharwad, IIT Hyderabad
IIMs - IIM Sirmaur, IIM Nagpur
Apart from IIMs and IITs other institutions from medical sciences, hotel management will also participate in the phase one.
