XLRI Launches Global Healthcare Leadership Program With Sorbonne B-School

The 10-month blended learning program is designed for senior professionals in the hospitals, life sciences and MedTech industries. The program is focused on enabling healthcare professionals to acquire the competencies to effectively manage the digital shift and drive organisational change.

Five Pillars of Leadership

The program’s curriculum is structured around five major pillars, ensuring that the future leaders of the healthcare industry are equipped for the demands of today’s leadership roles-

  • Strategy- Understand how to create and execute successful strategies.

  • Finance- Understand how to interpret and manage key value drivers.

  • Governance- Develop strong ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles for organisations.

  • Technology- Leverage new technologies and new business models to ensure competitive advantage.

  • Ethics- Address ethical issues related to patient care and the overall healthcare environment.

Sorbonne Business School brings a global dimension to the program by providing participants with tools to make digital transformation programs align with the overall goals of their organisations.

Addressing the Global Talent Shortage

The program is being offered at a critical juncture, as the talent shortage in the healthcare industry is one of the biggest challenges the world is currently facing. According to estimates made by McKinsey & Company, the global healthcare industry is expected to face a shortage of almost 10 million professionals by the year 2030.

The global healthcare staffing market, which was valued at USD 41.7 billion in 2023, is also expected to grow significantly, reaching USD 74.2 billion by 2032.

Healthcare leadership today requires much more than just functional expertise, said Santosh Sangem, Assistant Professor at XLRI – Xavier School of Management. Through this partnership, they aim to help senior professionals develop a global outlook and lead transformation across the entire healthcare ecosystem.
