This eight-month live online program is intended for experienced professionals looking to take up project management roles and contribute to the growth of the organisation. The program is intended to impart strategic leadership skills to the participants, enabling them to drive innovation, enhance the agility of the enterprise and ensure that projects are properly aligned with the objectives of the enterprise. The program's comprehensive curriculum will include important aspects of project management, such as operations, finance, stakeholder management and legal aspects.
Considering the need for senior leaders to effectively handle complex frameworks, lead teams and effectively use technology, the program meets this need through its nine core modules. The modules cover project management best practices, financial decision-making, vendor and people management, among other topics. Participants also have the opportunity to undertake a two-day campus immersion program at XLRI Delhi.
The need for project management professionals is on the rise, especially as industries are moving towards the adoption of new technologies. The global shortage is estimated to be as high as 30 million project professionals by 2035. The need is expected to rise by 64% between 2025 and 2035. Studies have shown that urbanisation in Asia and Africa, along with the rise in sustainable infrastructure, are major drivers of the need for project professionals.
Dr Santoshkumar Sangem, Assistant Professor, XLRI, explained how organisations succeed when projects are considered strategic assets, rather than individual projects, and how the program helps senior professionals improve portfolio thinking, governance, and risk and stakeholder management from a business perspective. He said, “The live online mode, along with a campus immersion at XLRI Delhi, has been designed to facilitate a collaborative learning environment, leading to a practically oriented and decision-based outcome.
Sridhar Nagarajachar, Business Head – Executive Education, TimesPro, said, “India’s growth story relies on successful execution and leadership strength and their program, in collaboration with XLRI, has been developed to deliver tangible results through a combination of academic research, simulations and hands-on training in tools such as MS Project, JIRA and Excel and aims to improve leadership abilities, cross-functional influence and large-scale project management skills.
The structure of the program is designed in a way that enables learners to advance from project execution roles to strategic leadership roles. The program is best suited for roles such as project managers, senior engineers, team leaders and operations heads, among others, and has the potential to help learners advance to roles such as program manager, PMO head, director or CXO.
The program, taught by XLRI faculty and industry experts, incorporates concept-based learning, discussions and simulations, along with methodologies such as PMP, ITIL and Scrum. The program extends over 150 hours, during which learners will be able to gain hands-on experience with tools such as MS Project, JIRA and Excel, along with a lifetime license for MS Project.
To be eligible, learners should possess a recognised graduate degree or diploma and have a minimum of three years of work experience. Upon completion, learners will be awarded Executive Alumni status from XLRI.
