In the first stage, the university will provide undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Subsequently, Data Science and Science courses will be added.

This revelation came while inaugurating the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025 event in New Delhi, where the Union Education Minister, other ministers and top education leaders were present.

The Greater Noida campus will also host 'Launch Pad', a worldwide startup and business incubator that has already assisted more than 1,000 startups and SMEs from across the globe. With this, Indian students will receive exposure to entrepreneurship training, innovation abilities and research-based learning to establish job-ready capabilities.

India has been a major focus region for Western Sydney University for a long time. Indian students now represent 20% of its overall international student population with approximately 1,300 Indian students studying at its Australian campuses. The university already has over 25 career-oriented programs following Australian education standards and has been developed to enhance career readiness.

The university administration has noted that this new campus will provide Indian students with transformative education opportunities and contribute to India's development agenda. It is an extension of their overall mission to work towards global cooperation and high-quality education that is in line with Indian aspirations.

Western Sydney University has collaborated with numerous Indian institutions in the past such as 30+ State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), ICAR, IITs, IISc and organisations such as NABARD and ICICI Bank. This has resulted in dual degrees, skill development programs and large-scale research collaborations. A few examples are:

  • A Centre of Excellence in Shielded Cropping with ICAR.

  • The Australia-India Water Centre which has taught 5,000 farmers about water management.

  • A13 million AUD country-wide pollination project that was done in 2023.

In terms of entrepreneurship, innovation, global exposure, and skill development, the new campus is anticipated to be in line with India's National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Indian facility will provide industry-relevant education, internships and international academic exchanges through the university's 'One University' model that enables students to leverage cross-campus interaction.

The curriculum will be future-proof and contextually relevant with high focus on agriculture, sustainability and innovation.
