The SEED 2025 Symposium on Economic Development will be held at IIM Bangalore.
Professors Ritwik Banerjee of IIM Bangalore, Anindya Chakrabarti of IIM Ahmedabad and Pavel Chakraborty of the University of Lancaster are co-curating the conference. The opening address will be given by Professor U Dinesh Kumar who is Dean of Faculty at IIM Bangalore.
Highlights of Day 1: Behavioural Economics and Firm Dynamics
Day 1 will have behavioural studies and research at the firm level. Sessions will include issues like gender differences in science, rural infrastructure and agriculture, conflict behaviour, bureaucrat assignment, telecom spillovers, market strategy and regulatory structures such as the PCA.
Highlights of Day 2: Development-Oriented Research
Day 2 will focus on developmental topics such as access to healthcare, green areas and economic impacts, cash transfers and social norms regarding gender-based violence. The conference seeks to connect scholarly research with economic realities and put its findings to the service of policy and development debates in India.
