The Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference is hosted by IIM Jammu
The conference included two highly participative panel sessions on hot topics and opportunities in the evolving job market. Prof. P.P. Maheshwari, Professor of Practice at IIM Jammu, hosted the first panel, which focused on "Learning Beyond Books: The Role of Industry in Making Education More Practical." Ms Mayuri Srivastava, Deputy Vice President of Learning and Development, Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited; Mr Chainsingh Rathore, Vice President of Talent Acquisition, Gateway Group; Mr Dhiraj V. Advani, CHRO, KD Hospitals; Mr Ajeet Singh, Manager of Corporate Banking, ICICI Bank (IIM Jammu Alumnus); Dr Jaideep Chowdhary, Director of Product Marketing, eInfochips; and Dr Jaideep Chowdhary, Director of Product Marketing, eInfochips. The panel underlined the necessity of bridging theory and practice through research, real projects, internships and industry exposure so that students are equipped to perform well in fluid and complex work environments.
The second panel chaired by Dr Apurva, Faculty, IIM Jammu, dealt with Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow: Industry Needs in Young Talent". Ms. Neha Lal, Healthcare Management Leader, Adani Healthcare Ventures; Dr. Sheetal Thomas, Research Head & Associate Professor, Parul University (IIM Jammu Alumnus); Mr. Rahul Punia, Senior Director, Protiviti Global; Mr. Arani Chatterjee, President & CRO, Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Ms. Mrinalini Minal, Manager, CEO Office, Adani Airport (IIM Jammu Alumnus). Panellists cited adaptability, problem-solving skills and leadership qualities as defining qualities for young professionals, highlighting the sector's demand for innovative and flexible individuals able to confidently lead in rapidly evolving corporate settings. The conference ended with the national anthem and then there was a networking lunch which allowed for significant discussions and interactions between participants. It was attended keenly by industry leaders, business executives and students from IIM Jammu's Industry Interaction Cell and Placement Committee.
The Ahmedabad Roundtable Conference reaffirmed IIM Jammu's aim to align management education with the economy's changing demands and strengthened its role as a link between academic learning and business practice. It cleared the way for tangible results and collaborations that will benefit students, universities and the private sector alike.
