He is an alumnus of IIM Lucknow where he finished his Fellow Program in Management (FPM) in Strategic Management.He is also an MTech graduate of IIT Kharagpur and a BTech graduate of GB Pant University in Pantnagar.

Prior to his appointment at IIM Kashipur, he was a Professor of Strategic Management at IIM Lucknow and held important leadership positions like Dean (Faculty and Programs), Chairperson of PG Programs, Admissions, Student Affairs and Placement. He was a member of the Board of Governors and was instrumental in getting AACSB accreditation for IIM Lucknow. He was also the national convener of CAT 2017 which was effectively conducted as one of the largest competitive exams of India.

Additionally, Prof. Dwivedi has worked with other prestigious universities like the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand, IIM Indore, and IIM Kozhikode. Prior to his shift to academics he worked in the industry for 7 years with industry leaders including NTPC, ONGC, Indian Oil, Samsung, McKinsey & Co. and Tata Play.

His reputation stems from his broad knowledge of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, strategic management and leadership development. Numerous awards are also received by his publications such as:

• Best Case Award at IIM Bangalore (2010).

• IAMB San Antonio's Best Research Paper in the year 2013.

• IAMB Rome's Best Doctoral Student Paper in the year 2014.

• INDAM Goa's runner-up for Best Paper (2024).

At IIM Lucknow, his Mergers & Acquisitions elective was twice chosen as the top strategy course.

Prof Dwivedi stated that he is privileged to assume the role of Director of IIM Kashipur. He outlined his vision for converting the institute into a technology-enabled, future-proofed management school globally known for excellence in academics and innovation.
