IIM Lucknow Student Startups Hit ₹2,500 Cr Valuation, Create 1,200+ Jobs Across India

Apart from traditional management education, IIM Lucknow is increasingly developing a strong startup culture with its student ventures contributing significantly to the country's economy. Currently, 250 of these ventures initiated by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) students are worth Rs 2500 crore. Simultaneously, they are providing ample employment opportunities to the youth of the country.

The Union Ministry of Education has showered its praise for the new age of entrepreneurship that is being introduced by the institute's remarkable achievements in the areas of teaching, research and innovation. As per the Ministry, these achievements not only enhance IIM Lucknow's reputation but also enormously make contributions toward the country's economic and social development.  More than 250 student businesses have benefited from the Enterprise Incubation Centre (EIC) of the institute so far.  The total capital value of these startups is Rs 2500 crore.

A total of 83 companies started by IIM Lucknow alumni have earned 208 patents till now according to the reports. Uttar Pradesh Government along with IIM Lucknow have launched a Centre of Excellence to develop blockchain technology.  Also, a cyber security lab of the latest kind has been formed in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and IT. In addition, these companies have enabled more than 1200 students to find good-paying employment.  To date, IIM Lucknow's EIC has invested Rs 107 crore in these student-owned ventures in an attempt to instill a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.  

IIM Lucknow is one of the topmost management institutes in India which is reshaping the business and entrepreneurship landscape of the country towards excellence. In the NIRF ranking 2024 released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, IIM Lucknow is at 7 position and in QS Global world rankings 2025 it is in the range 201-250.  IIM Lucknow's IPMX and PGP programs are also internationally acclaimed and certified by the AMBA and AACSB.
