The administration of the university has decided to integrate speciality BBA programs with the regular BBA programs. Therefore, admission seats for the program will go up from 180 to 300. The college provides a range of speciality BBA programs, including international business, tourism and insurance. Each of these programs has a strength of 60-60 seats. However from the next session all these seats will be integrated into the regular BBA curriculum.
LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava said the administration was prompted by growing competition at the national level. There were other options available for their speciality BBA courses which caused a dip in student interest. This led to the administration closing them down and merging their seats into the regular BBA program, he said.
Students prefer MBA specialisations over BBA specialisations. This is since MBA students already possess a strong background in business and management, so specialisations become more meaningful at a postgraduate level, he clarified.
LU will continue to provide specialist courses within its MBA program, such as in the form of human resource management, tourism, finance, international business and event management.
