IISWBM Welcomes 50th MBA Batch with Inspiring Industry Leaders

The Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) Kolkata popularly referred to as Asia's oldest business school launched its new Day Program full-time MBA day program (2025–2027) with a grand event on July 4, 2025. This year’s event was all the more special since it heralded IISWBM's 50th MBA batch — a Golden Jubilee celebration.

IISWBM Welcomes 50th MBA Batch with Inspiring Industry Leaders

The event included renowned industry stalwarts who shared their learnings and insights. Chief Guest Mr. Madan Mohan Mohanka who is chairman of Tega Industries shared his international business experience in Chile and Australia. He advised students to remain resolute, adaptable and internationally focused in their professional lives.

The guest of honour was the senior MD of JLL India Ms. Surekha Bihani. She stressed the need to be sincere and how she personally encourages women's development in the workplace. Her message challenged the next generation of managers to make organisations more inclusive and visionary.

IISWBM Director along with the MBA head Prof. Dr. Krishna Murari Agrawal and Prof. Dr. Gairik Das presided over the event. The two professors encouraged students to dedicate themselves to lifelong learning, self-discipline and the work ethic behaviors that assist not only in studies but also in life and profession.

A number of distinguished faculty members were in attendance and more than 100 eager MBA students participated in the ceremony. The addresses and presentations made a lasting impression establishing a strong tone for the journey to come.

This inauguration ceremony was not just the celebration of 50 years of MBA excellence at IISWBM but also a reminder to all of the institute's mission to develop responsible and visionary business leaders for the future.
