IIM Trichy Starts a Project to Renovate Schools

Elixir, the social responsibility club of the Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchi recently declared a School Redevelopment Project 2024-25 in collaboration with the Pranyas Foundation.

The Indian Institute of Management-Tiruchirappalli declared a ₹12.58 lakh project to upgrade the educational infrastructure of four government schools in Tiruchi and cover around 1,500 students.

Prior to implementation, Elixir members went on visits to the targeted schools, interacted with stakeholders and evaluated their needs to make sure the interventions of the project touched on the needs of children as well as educators. From these observations the team designed specific improvements to enhance the overall learning experience.

The drive includes four schools: 

  • Government School in Nariyappatti

  • Government Special Higher Secondary School in Mathur

  • Government Higher Secondary School in Mandaiyur

  • Government High School in Neerpalani

The initiative supported by Rahul Sharma Pranyas Foundation Founder included key developments like toilet renovation to improve sanitation, classroom renovation to encourage effective learning, smart classroom installations to facilitate digital education, water dispensers for safe drinking water and benches for comfortable seating.
