Ajay S. Shriram Chairman of the IIM-Sirmaur Board of Governors presided over the event and Siddharth Sharma CEO of Tata Trusts was the chief guest and gave the convocation speech.
Director Prafulla Y Agnihotri highlighted major achievements in research, academics, placements and international partnerships while presenting the 2025-2026 annual report. He mentioned that the institute provides a wide range of programs such as the flagship MBA, BMS and executive programs such as the EMBA and EMBA in Digital Transformation and Analytics, MBA in Tourism Management, MBA in Travel and Hospitality Management and Ph.D in Management.
He stated the development of the Post Graduate Program for Executives in Leadership in Smart Manufacturing (PGPEX-LSM) carried out in association with RWTH Aachen University in Germany was a significant highlight. The institute's alignment with national programs like Make in India and the goal of Viksit Bharat-2047 is demonstrated by the graduation of its first batch this year.
Agnihotri said that, IIM-Sirmaur strengthened its ties with top international organisations such as the Ministry of Tertiary Education Science and Research Mauritius, University of Mauritius, Saint Marie De Chavagnes, Emlyon Business School and University of Technology Mauritius. These partnerships improved exposure to the world by facilitating student exchanges, cooperative programs and research projects.
The institute achieved good placement results in spite of a difficult economic climate. The director informed the audience that over 400 businesses interacted with the campus with over 220 of them taking part in final placements and offering more than 250 positions. The costliest package cost Rs 30 lakh annually while the average cost to the organisation was ₹15.09 lakhs. Dabur, MG Motor, Taj Hotels, Ernst & Young, Tech Mahindra and Amul were important recruiters.
Notable faculty accomplishments such as publications in prestigious A-category and A journals, research funding, books published internationally, contributions to public debate and patents in cutting-edge interdisciplinary domains were also noted by the director. According to him, these advancements demonstrated the institute's increasing prominence as a management organisation focused on research and globalisation.
