IIM Shillong Holds ‘Adyant’ Convocation for Management Essentials 2025 Graduates

The Convocation, in association with MILVEST (Military and Veterans Families Skilling and Transformation) and IIM Shillong, held the certificate distribution ceremony for a diverse batch of military families who successfully transitioned into the domain of business management.

Lt Gen Mohit Wadhwa SM, General Officer Commanding of 101 Area, attended the event as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also graced by Naliniprava Tripathy, Director of IIM Shillong, Captain (IN) Vinay Singh, Founder of MILVEST, along with faculty members and representatives from the defence community.

Speaking to the audience, Lt Gen Wadhwa mentioned the inclusivity aspect of the program, which provides commissioned officers, JCOs, other ranks and spouses the opportunity to acquire the same knowledge, thus stressing the point that the new age is skill-dependent, not rank-dependent.

MILVEST is an asset to the nation because it maintains the dignity of military society in terms of training them to face a rapidly changing global environment.

Captain (IN) Vinay Singh thanked the 101 Area HQ, Indian Army and IIM Shillong for institutional support and said that this project remains a mission-driven endeavour to realise the professional aspirations of the military family.

The Management Essentials 2025 initiative highlighted its potential to co-create a learning ecosystem that can be tailored to fit the lived experiences of the military context, namely operations, moves and career changes.
