IIM Sambalpur Signs MoU With to MCL Boost Education Infrastructure

In an effort to improve educational infrastructure Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) and IIM Sambalpur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under its CSR project MCL will provide ₹44.54 crore to build a 450 bed hostel for girls on the campus of the IIM institution. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur and Jyotirmay Sinha of General Manager (CSR) MCL.

In order to greatly improve the residential facilities at IIM Sambalpur and provide more opportunities for female students to pursue management education, this project entails the construction of three G+5 hostel buildings with contemporary amenities like lift facilities, solar water heating systems, CCTV surveillance systems, fire safety systems and air conditioning systems.

This program demonstrates MCL’s dedication to empowerment and social development via education. Additionally, the partnership is in line with the more general objective of promoting gender inclusion throughout the state's top educational institutions.
