He was delivering a lecture at SAMAGAM 2026, the first alumni meet of the Executive MBA program of IIM Nagpur, organised recently on the campus. The meeting was an important milestone for the Executive MBA program and also a testimony to the growing alumni base and the establishment of a strong niche program in the institution. Mr. Kamath began his address with his early days and narrated his experiences working with various national and international established products in executive education.
The Executive MBA program of IIM Nagpur is specifically designed for working professionals, senior officials and officers who would like to obtain a degree in management without putting a pause to their career. This program is being offered at Nagpur and Pune is well known throughout the industry for its industry-focused program, blended learning process and faculty engagement, which makes the Executive MBA program one of the most preferred choices among working professionals.
India is on a strong growth trajectory today. The next decade will be a highly transformational period not only for India but for an institution like IIM Nagpur, which is dedicated to honing capable and responsible leaders, asserted Dr. Metri, putting forth the macro environment prevailing in the nation's leaders.
Participants and alumni from across the country attended SAMAGAM 2026. Speaking about the performance of the institute in the field of Executive Education, Prof. Alok Kumar Singh, Dean of Executive Education at IIM Nagpur, said that the institute has developed itself as a prestigious brand in the country in the field of Executive Education.
IIM Nagpur has received premier national rankings in the area of Executive Education based on government and private surveys. Within less than a decade, the institute has carved a niche in this area and surpassed several established institutions in this space, according to Prof Singh.
A two-day alumni meet was marked by the active presence of the senior administration of the institute, which included Prof. Prashant Gupta, Dean (Faculty, Academics and Alumni Affairs); Prof. Sujit Kumar Sharma, Dean (Research and PhD); Prof. Alok Kumar Singh, Dean (Executive Education); Prof. Shailendra Nigam, Chairperson - Placements and Prof Apoorv Khare, Chairperson - Executive MBA (Hybrid).
Professor Apoorv Khare pointed out that SAMAGAM, launched this year, would henceforth become the flagship event of the Executive MBA program, focusing on improving interactions, collaborations and a community feel among participants coming from different batches.
Activities included ice-breaking exercises, team-building activities, indoor and outdoor sport events, cultural performances, student presentations, tree plantation activities and dinner and networking sessions where participants had the chance to network with each other beyond academics.
