The current scenario in the finance sector is rapidly evolving. Organisations are facing challenges of market uncertainty, tough regulations and increasing demands from shareholders. Finance leaders are now required to make significant contributions to key decisions such as capital allocation, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, governance and business growth. As a result of this new requirement, there is an increasing need for advanced strategic finance skills.

The Executive Program in Corporate and Strategic Finance has been developed to enable working professionals to relate their knowledge of finance to business strategy and leadership. The program has been designed to enhance their skills in supporting high-level organisational planning and development.

The first batch of the program consisted of professionals who have more than 12 years of work experience. The professionals who attended the program belonged to various fields such as finance, consulting, auditing, operations, entrepreneurship and leadership. The professionals' expertise included finance, accounting, market risk, due diligence, corporate compliance, sales and marketing, account management and technology-related activities.

Professionals from sectors such as financial services, IT, consulting, real estate, manufacturing, engineering and education were a part of the first batch of the program.

Important topics covered in the curriculum include corporate finance, capital markets, strategic financial planning, valuation, mergers and acquisitions, risk management and governance. The course is designed in a way that emphasises learning so that the participants can apply the concepts of finance to practical business situations.

The course provides a blended learning experience. The course involves live online classes by experienced faculty members along with two to three days of on-campus immersion at IIM Mumbai. After the successful completion of the course and attendance, the participants will receive a certificate from IIM Mumbai and will become executive alumni members.

By taking this course, the participants are able to develop a strong foundation in financial knowledge and at the same time learn about the latest approaches in strategic finance. The course will help them develop strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

The course is beneficial for finance professionals, business managers, entrepreneurs and senior executives who are interested in enhancing their knowledge in strategic finance and moving towards more senior roles.
