This course is suitable for working professionals, individuals interested in sports management, entrepreneurs and sportspersons. This course will include topics such as sports marketing, sports management, sports governance, sports analytics, sports finance, sports infrastructure management and so on.
This course will be a 12-month blended learning course. There will be classes on weekends and campus immersion programs at IIM Mumbai. There will be a total of four campus immersion programs during this course. There will also be case studies and real-life experiences in sports management.
The program is also in line with the government of India’s strategy to host international sports events in the country in the future, including India's bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics. The PGDSM hopes to create skilled professionals through this initiative to boost the sports management industry in the country.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management (PGDSM) offered by the Indian Institute of Management Mumbai, in association with the International Institute of Sports & Management, places significant emphasis on practical learning, industry interaction and ethical leadership. The students will be provided with real-world experience through internships, consulting projects, leadership workshops, visits to sports venues and lectures by experts from the sports industry.

Admissions and Eligibility
Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks. Applicants must also have a valid score in CAT, GMAT, GRE or IMAT. However, relaxation is allowed for exceptional sportspersons and coaches.
The deadline to apply is March 15, 2026. The IMAT exam will be held on March 22, 2026. Classes for this course are expected to start on April 6, 2026. The course fee is ₹8.5 lakh plus applicable taxes.
